Myre placed stacks of foraged mushrooms and mined ore into a purple dyed wooden chest. It was a hard day's work to gather it all. At one point, she almost lost it all when she was cornered by zombies but fortunately for her, a swing of her sword and a well placed bomb cut her the path she needed to escape.
With one hand Myre adjusted her headset. Her computer setup wasn't state of the art but it was enough to run circles around any family or business computer. She had two matched high resolution monitors and the hardware to support a third easily. It was nestled in the corner of the room next to a seldom used fireplace, and a window overlooking the ocean. "I put everything from my mine trip in the community chest."
Evan's voice came clearly through Myre's headphones along with the distant barks of his dog. "Great! We should have everything we need for a few simple sprinklers. All we need is some fish to make some fertilizer."
"You can do that. I plan on running around town tomorrow to give gifts to everyone. I'm going to find that goth looking kid that stays locked in his basement. Then I'm going to marry him," Myre laughed into the microphone.
"Really? Why not... Literally anyone else in town?"
"You're right. I'll marry the old guy!"
"He's already married."
"I'll introduce polygamy into the game. You said this game was moddable, right?"
"You could do that, but you'd have to write a whole pile of old man dialogue."
Myre smirked. "Fine. Back to romancing the nerdy basement dweller. Oh! It's getting dark. We should head to bed."
"Be right there."
"Actually, I should start winding down before bed too. We can save here and pick up another time. Right?" She was honestly eager to play again.
"Sure, no problem. I should get ready for work in a little while too. On that topic... I wanted to say thanks for playing with me. I know its a bit outside of your usual genre, but I hope it sparked something. Your play style is really refreshing. I spend too much time focusing on the next goal and you - well, I like that you find little things to really enjoy."
"Don't be silly Evan, I'm having a lot of fun! I'm not so rigid in what I like that I can't enjoy other games. I just hope you don't take my flights of fancy as me not enjoying the game."
"No, not at all. There. Game is saved. Thanks again!"
Myre leaned on one arm rest and twirled a strand of frizzy hair between two fingers. Her stomach gurgled with hunger. With a wide grin framed by rosy cheeks she cleared her throat. "I usually watch things before bed. Will you watch some things with me?"
"Oh. Oh! Yeah of course. I mean - only because you asked so nice."
After some back and forth, they decided on a British comedy panel show. In between bouts of laughter, Myre's stomach gurgled and growled. Her hand found its way to the softness on her midsection.
Quiet down tummy, Evan will hear you. She curled her legs up into the computer chair and snuggled into a pillow. "Hah! I love the blue whales gag!"
Evan laughed through the microphone. "Me too! They even addressed it directly in that one episode."
A few quips later her stomach growled again. Noooo stomach. I've already eaten enough today. Quite down... Still though, you're right. Ice cream would be delicious. She pulled up her shirt, and gave her bare stomach a squeeze. I mean i guess i could get some. It would be delicious but it would bump up my calories for the day. I'd just be hungry again in an hour.... And then there is this thing. She poked playfully at her stomach. "Hey Evan. Should I get ice cream?" The words escaped her mouth without a thought.
