"You know what mom? Send me away!" I yell in her face.

She throws her hands up in the air, "That's what I'm doing."

"So thoughtful." I growl.

"Get dressed, you're going to stay with your aunt in California." She says.

I run my hand through my hair and stomp into my- the room. Quickly I pick out a black t-shirt and a flannel to tie around my waist. Matching it with a pair of ripped jeans and my Converse.

"Pack your bags, I'll be sending you your stuff over a few days." My mom says.

I quickly put together some clothes and my dad's necklace. I pause for a moment before continuing my actions.

"Come on!" She demands.

I stand and open the bedroom door, "Shut up! I'm getting there!" I yell.

She rolls her eyes, "You're taking for ever."

"Oh well," I say throwing my clothes into the suitcase.

After a little longer I finally get everything together and take one last look at my old room before closing the door behind me.

"Finally, get in the damn car." She says opening the front door.

I ignore this monster and get in the back seat. "Let's go." She says pulling onto the road.

I sit in silence while listening to her music while she drives. Watching the roads as we drive captivates me, knowing it'll be the last time makes me happy. I don't want to stay here with this horrible human being. And I want to leave everything in the past, my juvi, my tattoos, and my piercings. Everything... sometimes I even think my dad is supposed to stay there too.

When we get to the airport I get out of the car and grab my bags from the trunk. My mothers watches as I walk away. I just hold the middle finger up in the air not giving her one last look, she can rot in hell for all I care. I've spent so many nights bleeding, punching, and crying do to her. Bye.

Getting on the plane the flight attendant looks at me weirdly. I step in front of her standing tall with question.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing, umm... how old are you miss?" She asks.

"I'm seventeen." I say blankly.

"Please enjoy the flight." She says moving out of my way.

I step on and take my seat between the most annoying people. Ignoring them I wait for the plane to take off patiently. I just want to get all of this over with and leave everything behind me.

A few hours we later the plane lands and I can't wait to walk around. My legs are numb now, when I stand they tingle but it goes away as I begin to place one foot after the other. I quickly walk over to grab my bag then head to a small shop. Grabbing snacks off the shelf I place them on the counter and pay.

"Hungry?" The guys asks.

I nod, "Yeah, long flight." I say.

He smiles and hands me the bag that will soon fill my belly. I walk out and pull out the drink while opening it. The top fizzes before I begin to drink it down, in my defense I was thirsty.

Hey, I'm on my way - Babysitter

Ugh, my aunt.

No, I'll take a taxi - Me

I'm picking you up, deal with it - Babysitter

Ugh, what ever - Me

Shoving my phone back in my pocket I walk out the doors. The breeze feels nice as it flows through my hair.

Now that's the feel of a new beginning. I laugh and sit on a bench to wait for my aunt to pull up. Not even knowing what her car looks like but I stay sitting.

"Emily!" I hear a voice call.

I look to where the voice is and spot my crack head aunt walking toward me. She doesn't do drugs but she sure acts like it. I stand with my bag and begin to make my way to her while internally groaning.

"What?" She asks tilting her head.

I ignore her and continue to walk as she follows behind me into the parking lot.

"Right here." She says pointing to a blue ford.

I get into the backseat and wait for her to pull out.

"Why don't you sit here?" She asks pointing next to her.

"You think I really want to sit there?" I ask getting annoyed.

"Well..."

"No, okay? no." I say leaning back.

"Buckle up." She says.

I shake my head and ignore her as we pull onto the road. My plan for this new beginning is what I begin to go over in my book of plans.

Move - Check.

Settle in -

Have fun -

Forget -

live on and be free -

I sigh and put it back in my bag. My obnoxious aunt begins to sing along with the song  playing on the radio. Her voice isn't bad but she's too... preppy for me. I play with my nose ring while putting my headphones over my head and blasting it into my ears.
