I wake up and my room is completely dark. Rubbing my eyes I take look at my phone, the brightness burns my eyes. The clock reads four, I stand and walk down stairs. Getting a glass of water I look around at the dark house. It's quiet and kind of peaceful, I'll begin to like this place. I sigh in relief and walk back to my room to go to sleep for the rest of the morning.

"Wake up!"

"Emily!"

I roll over to my aunts face hovering over mine. Ugh. I sit up and watch as she walks out of the room.

"Ben will be here two hours." She says.

"It's five?" I ask. No wonder why I'm so tired. I woke up an hour ago.

"Yes. now get out of that bed." She says closing my door.

I stand and walk over to my closet while putting my hair up in a bun. I quickly pick out a black t- shirt and a pair of shorts. I change then do my hair, after applying my mascara I walk downstairs.

"Wow." My aunt says.

"What?" I ask confused.

"You're already ready?" She asks.

"Yeah." I say shrugging.

She nods and sips her coffee. I sit at the dining table and scroll through my phone.

Hey- No caller ID

Hey? - Me

It's Ben, you're aunt gave me your number - No caller ID

Okay, one minute- Me

I go to my contacts and make a name for his number.

Hi- Me

Hey, so I'll be there in an hour - Ben

Okay, I'm almost ready - Me

Well, bye - Ben

Okay, see ya - Me

I head back upstairs and pack my books into my bag for school. Setting it by the door I hear my aunt on the phone.

"Yeah, she's good." My aunt says.

"Mmmhmmm, yeah, Okay I'll see." She nods.

She hangs up and walks into the dining room, "Hey, call your mom."

"I didn't know I have one." I say shrugging.

She tilts her head, "Please?"

I shake my head and stand grabbing my bag, "See ya!" I say walking out the front door.

I bounce down the steps and onto the sidewalk, the sun shines everywhere. A small shiver runs through me.

I'm pulling up - Ben

I'm outside - Me

I see a car drive up in front of me, he leans out the middle smiling.

"Hey." He says.

"Hi." I say getting into the backseat.

"What's with the backseat thing?" He asks beginning to drive.

"I don't like to sit next to people." I say.

"Okay, well school kind of makes you." He teases.

"Shut up!" I say hitting his seat.He laughs but doesn't say anything.

When we turn into the parking lot of the school I look at the red and brown building.

"Okay." He says unbuckling.

"This is it?" I ask.

He nods and opens the backdoor for me, "Thanks." I say stepping out.

I have manners, for people I find descent. He leads me into the building but no one is here. I look around the empty halls and classrooms.

"No one is here today because of a little holiday thing but the school let us come in because you're  new." He says.

I run my hand through my hair while sighing, "Cool."

"I'm just going to show you your classes and a few other things." He says.

"Okay." I say looking at the back of his head.

He's fairly tall and nice looking, there's a kindness I like to him. I can see parts of his tattoos which make me curious. He also has random bruises and cuts on his hands, I want to learn about him. But there's no room for that.

"Where'd you get the necklace?" He asks not looking back at me.

"I...I got it from my dad." I say quietly.

"Oh... Did I ask something personal?" He turns to me.

"No.... He's just dead." I say looking at the floor.

"I'm sorry,... I didn't-"

"It's fine, let's continue." I say walking a little ahead of him.

"Emily!" He calls, "Wait."

"It's actually Emma." I say stopping.

He nods and begins to walk again with me while pointing out a few things.

When we're done we walk out and get into what I assume is his car. He turns the radio on and I lay across the back seats.

"Buckle up." He says.

"I'm good." I say.

He rolls his eyes and pulls out of the parking lot. By the time we get to my house my aunt is gone for work. I walk up the steps and into the house and set my bag down.

See you later? - Ben

Maybe, I might be busy - Me

With what? - Ben

Watching the sky move - Me

Ha-ha very funny - Ben

See you - Me

I click my phone off and walk into my bedroom and fall onto my bed with a sigh. It wasn't so bad, but it will be with everyone else. UGH.
