"Hey, aunty?" I ask walking down the stairs.

"Yeah?" She asks looking up at me.

"Your wedding is in a few days right?" I ask.

"Yeah, I'm so nervous." She says sighing.

I place my hand on her shoulder, "I'll go, I guess."

"Really? Thank you!" She jumps around squealing.

"Calm down, I can change my mind right now." I say rolling my eyes.

"I love you!" She squeaks.

She wraps her arms around my body, squishing me. I pull away and look at her big grin as she continues to plan things on her computer.

"Is there anything you need?" I ask.

"Could you pick up flower samples for me?" She asks.

"Sure."  I say shrugging.

"Take Ben." She says.

"No, I'm good." I say.

She tilts her head making me change my mind. Rolling my eyes I walk up to my room. I quickly put on a blue over-sized t-shirt and a pair of  shorts. The front door closes down stairs but I ignore it while I put on some blush and eyeliner.

"Hey!" I call down to my aunt, "High-top or low?"

"High!" She yells.

I throw my high-tops back into my closet and slip on my low ones. The checkered parts are a bit dirty but it never bothered me. Walking down stairs I slip my phone into my back pocket and tuck my shirt into my shorts.

"You look cute." My aunt says smiling.

"Thanks." I sigh out.

"I can't see your freckles." She says frowning.

"I don't really like em'" I say shrugging.

I walk to the front door while grabbing my keys, I haven't drove my car for a while.

"Where's Ben?" She asks.

I turn back around annoyed, "Not here, I'm not waiting."

"For your friend?" She asks.

"No." I say closing the door behind me.

When I walk down the steps to my car of course Ben's has to pull up.

"Hey, a few friends wants to go somewhere and they told me to ask you." He says through the window.

"What?" I ask blankly.

"They said to invite you because we're friends." He says.

"We aren't." I say getting annoyed.

He frowns and looks back out the windshield.

"Okay." He says quietly.

"My aunt wants us to go get flower samples." I say hoping he wouldn't want to come.

"Okay." He repeats.

I get into my car and start it up and then the passenger door opens.

"Let's go." He says.

There's a good amount of  tension in the car as I drive. Why would he tell people we're friends? Oh, right, because he's a person. He doesn't even know me.

When we get to the flower shop we walk in making the door bell ring. A sweet lady walks out with a smile.

"What can I do for you?" She asks.

"I'm here for Ms. Williams, soon to be-"

"Mrs. Brown." She interrupts me.

I nod and take in a sharp breath, Ben's stands silently waiting for her to say something.

"Okay, so we can put together samples and you can take them with you." She says.

I walk to the back with her where she has bunches of flowers with names and categories.

"Thank you." I say smiling.

"You're very welcome." She says smiling.

I walk back out and Ben is already in the car. When I get in I place the flowers in the middle and buckle up before driving.

"I'm sorry." He breathes.

"Not now." I say not ready to hear his words.

He sighs and continues to gaze out the window silently. My phone rings and the devil emoji pops up.

Shit.

"Don't touch it." I say to Ben.

He furrows his eyes brows at me.  The only people who weren't marked bad in my phone were Ben and my aunt. I was late to change Ben's contact to something bad. The one calling me now was a person I'd rather never see again.

"Who is it?" He asks.

"No one special." I force out.

When we get to my house I get out quickly and grab the flowers. Walking up the stairs I hear Ben behind me with his loud steps. My aunt smiles at us as we walk in, I hand her the flowers and rush up into my room. My phone rings again making me angrier.

"What do you want!" I yell to the phone.

A chuckle rings in my ear, "Oh baby, why so feisty?"

"Don't call me that, what do you want?" I panic.

"I'm coming to see you soon baby." He whispers before hanging up.

No, this can't happen.

I rush down the stairs and see my aunt and Ben talking, Running to the door I lock it and close the curtains.

"Don't open the door unless you get me." I tell them.

"Hon?" My aunt asks, "What's wrong?"

"Just... do as I say." I say running up the stairs.

I make sure my window is locked and plop onto my bed.

"What's going on?" Ben asks.

"I don't want to talk about it." I say.

"Neither did I but it helps." He says.

I look over at his tall figure in the door way, "He's...so rude." Tears prick my eyes.

He walks over and sits next to me with a frown, "Em."  he says putting a hand on my shoulder.

I shake it off and stand, "I want to be alone for now." I say.

"Bu-"

"Please." I urge beginning to cry more.

He nods and walks out, closing the door behind him. I collapse onto the floor letting my tears stream down my face as I lean against the wall.

If only he knew what was coming.
