After school hours were over Ben dropped me off and I played it cool. Something told me that she'd find out about us not going to school. I really hoped that she wouldn't.

"Hey!" I hear my aunt call from downstairs.

"I'm in my room." I say hoping she wouldn't find me.

I continue to sketch in my book and wait for my aunt to walk through the door. The whole night I was prepared for her to bother me but she doesn't.

Ben's POV

When I get home I can't wipe the smile off of my face. I like hanging out with her, she's so care free. Smiling at the thought I quietly sneak up to my room, I can't handle my dad right now. When I get my bedroom door shut I lock it quickly and lay across my bed. Everyday I lay across my bed for hours, maybe my dad would be happy once something good happens. He just wasn't proud of me in any way. I didn't even have to do anything bad he'd just... hit me.

Hey - Me

Hi - Emma

How're you? - Me

Hoping my aunt won't bother me - Emma

Haha why? - Me

She's the last thing I need in my ear - Emma

I can relate - Me

Well, dinner is ready so I have to go - Emma

Okay, bye - Me

Clicking my phone off I pull my shirt over my head and toss it into the basket by my door. Hearing the front door close I double check to make sure my door is locked. I slip on some sweats and crawl into bed when there's a knock at the door.

"Hey boy, food's down here." I hear my dad call.

I don't reply, I just click off my light and close my eyes.

Emma's POV

I roll around in my bed before finally climbing out. The sound of my aunt washing dishes and moving things around. Slipping my slides on, I walk downstairs and wait for her to notice me.

"Hey, what time is it?" I ask.

"Five sweety." She says smiling.

I toss my head back groaning, "Don't call me that."

"Go back to sleep." She says.

I shake my head, there's no use. "I can't."

I'm not able to go back to sleep after I wake up. I hate that my body does that to me, ugh. Walking back up stairs I pick my phone up to check my messages.

Hey - Me

There's no reply, now I know he doesn't get up that early. I walk to my closet and pick out a black skirt and a dark blue t-shirt. My aunt knocks on the door scaring me mid-having my shirt on.

"What?" I ask annoyed.

"I was wondering if you'd want to go some where with me today." She says.

"Oh... sure?" I say pulling my skirt on.

"Okay, we can go after school." She says.

I open the door and she's standing directly in front of it.

"How do you know Ben?" I ask.

"Oh," She pauses, "Umm.... I think that he can answer that."

I watch her turn and walk down the stairs without an other word. What was that about? I'll have to bring that up at some point. I love my aunt more than my own mother, she's the only one I'd stay with here.

Hey, sorry I was sleeping - Ben

It's okay - Me

I'll see you soon - Ben

I'm going somewhere with my aunt today - Me

After I drop you off? - Ben

Yeah - Me

Okay, see ya - Ben

I slide my phone into my skirt pocket and sit on the couch.

"Were you texting Ben?" My aunt asks.

"Yeah, just letting him know we're going out after he drops me off." I say.

"Do you like him?" She asks.

I snap my head in her direction, "You're acting weird."

"Well...."

"As a person.... sure." I say shrugging.

He should be thankful that I even consider him a being in my life, one I'm okay with at that. He has something I'm interested in, but then I'm done with him. I don't have time for friends, I need to stick to my plan.

"Not a friend?" She asks sounding sad.

"No... I don't know... he's nice." I shrug.

"OoH." She teases.

I shake my head while holding in my smile, she's so annoying. Standing I look out the window in hope that Ben would get here.

"Ben's here." I lie walking out the door.

Bouncing down the stairs I slip and scrape my elbows and knees.

"Shit!" I hiss.

Ben's car pulls up in front of me, he frantically gets out and rushes to me.

"What happened?" He asks.

"Nothing, I'm fine." I say standing.

"Emma." He says sternly, "Just let me help."

I pause and look at him, he just keeps his eyes on mine. Giving in we walk back into my house and I gets some peroxide on my cuts.

When we  finish Ben stands and I notice Ben's hands are healed and his face isn't bruised. That gives me relief, I stand and follow him to the car. Here we go, an other day in hell.
