"Babe?" I hear someone call.

I sit up and look out the window wear my aunt stands. A tall bearded man is talking to her and she laughs at his words. Soon enough she walks back inside and I slide down the stairs.

"Who's your new man?" I ask giving a grin.

She blushes while laughing, "He's not new."

"What?" I say tilting my head.

"He's my fiance." She says smiling.

I straighten up in shock and give her a 'I don't believe you' look.

"I love him very much and our date is next month on the fifth." She says.

"Have you told the goblin back home?" I ask.

She shakes her head while frowning, "No, I didn't want her coming."

"That's a relief." I say sighing.

"Anyways, I was hoping you'd want to come." She says.

"I'll just stay here." I say shrugging.

"I refuse to let you stay here, I've it already planned." She says frowning.

"Maybe when the time comes." I say walking back up to my room.

Plopping onto my bed sighing I remember to get dressed. I change into a red t-shirt and black jeans with my checkered vans.

"Should I put my hair up!?" I yell to my aunt.

"Leave it down!" She yells back.

I nod and begin to put my hair up into a pony tail. Making my bed I open my curtains and do my laundry. When I'm done I walk downstairs where Ben and my aunt are talking.

"Hey." I say confused.

"Hey." He replies.

"What're you doing here?" I ask.

"I'm taking you to school, of course." He says.

His voice sounds so different to my ears. I'm slowly getting used to having his english accent around. He's kind but there's something about him that he's hiding and I want to learn about it.

"Okay." I say putting my bag on the floor.

"Don't put that there." My aunt scolds me.

I shrug and ignore her while getting a glass of water.

"Let's go." Ben says walking toward the door.

I nod and catch up to him walking through the door.

"How're you?" He asks.

"Okay as ever... you?" I ask not really caring.

"Good." He says blankly.

He has new scratches on his knuckles, I reach out for his hand then stop.

"What?" He asks.

"Nothing." I say looking down.

He gets in the car and I continue to examine his hands.

"Is there something bothering you?" He asks looking concerned.

"Always." I say shrugging.

"You want to talk about it?" He asks.

I shake my head and look out the window as he pull out of the driveway. Why would he be so curious? to embarrass me?

                                                                                 ***

"I'm home!" I yell walking through the door.

There's no response reminding me that my aunt isn't home. No one is, I'm alone. I head upstairs and take off my shirt. Sitting with my knees to my chest I begin to cry into them. Sobbing, remembering everything, I'm alone.

Three knocks at the my door make me wipe my eyes quickly.

"What?" I ask trying to sound normal.

"You okay?" Ben's voice asks.

"What're you doing here?" I ask laying back.

"Your aunt told me to come over after school." He says.

"Go away." I say sitting criss-cross.

"Can I come in?" He asks.

"Not if you don't want to see me in a bra." I say with a little smirk.

He opens the door and sits at my side.

"Wow, you didn't freak out." I tease.

"I thought you were joking." He says smiling.

I shake my head, "Why're you crying?" He asks.

I shrug, "I do it a lot." I say.

"I don't think that's a good thing." He says frowning.

"I don't ask for it." I say quietly.

He nods, "What's with you?" I ask.

"What do you mean?" He asks covering his hands.

I tilt my head, "What's wrong with your hands?" I ask.

He shakes his head, "I don't ask for it." He quotes me.

"Come here." He holds out his arms.

"I'm not a hugger." I say.

"Sometimes it's what I need." He says.

I sigh and wrap my arms around his back awkwardly. Letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding I realise I like this. Not a hug, but hugging him in a weird way. Though it's a little weird only because I don't have my shirt on.

"Thanks." I say.

He nods and stands to walk out my door, "You could stay and talk." I say.

He smiles, "You sure?" He asks.

I nod, he turns around and sits next to my on my bed. We begin to talk and joke around with each other. I felt so comfortable with him, it was something I was curious about but I'd let continue tonight.

Eventually my aunt came home and made dinner. We had an extra room and my aunt offered him to stay for the night and he took it gladly. I want to know why he was so happy to not have to go home. There are so many things I want to know about him.

Hugs was kind of a nice way of her discovering things she wouldn't want to do with anyone else.
