chapter four — he's probably just being friendly
"gosh, why isn't dad here yet?"
dahye looked around. school ended about half an hour ago, all her friends left already for their extra lessons and rain was heavily pouring down. she sat on a bench pulling out her phone to call her dad."dad, it's four pm already. where are you?"
dahye spoke on the phone.
"i'm stuck in traffic, i'll be there in about fifteen more minutes"
her dad replied.
"okay, drive safe"
she said and hung up.dahye placed her phone back into her bag and watched the rain as it's falling down. just then, she heard footsteps and saw jeno. dahye looked down, minding her own business when jeno suddenly stood in front of her.
"you're not going home yet?"
he asked.
"my dad is stuck in traffic"
dahye shook her head.
"i see, my driver is too"
jeno sat next to dahye.
"i just realized he didn't have a proper greeting, i'm lee jeno"
he pulled his hand out for a handshake.
"i'm park dahye"
she shook jeno's hand.
"where did you move from?"
jeno asked.
"busan, my dad got a new job here and i had to move"
dahye sighed.jeno and dahye continued talking for what seems to be a long time before they heard a car drive in front of them.
"oh, that's my dad. i'll see you tomorrow and i'll wash your sweater and return it"
dahye said standing up.
"okay, see you. just keep my sweater, i don't need it"
jeno replied, also standing up.
"you sure?"
"yeah, see you. my driver's also here"
"wait what? i thought he was stuck in traffic"
dahye asked in confusion.
"no, he arrived about ten minutes ago. i just didn't want to leave you alone"
jeno replied, smiling.
"you didn't have to do that, but thank you"
dahye thanked and entered her car."dahye, already getting a boyfriend on the first day?"
dahye's dad teased, shaking his head.
"no, he's just a classmate"
she whined.
"we'll see if that will change in a few months"
dahye's dad teased again.
"he has tons of girls going after him, i have no chance anyway"
dahye sighed looking out the window, the rain had already stopped and she watched the droplets fall on the car window.
"you'll never know what he thinks about you though, from what i saw, he seems to like you. i mean, why would he stay if his car came already?"
her dad asked, stating a fact.
"he's probably just being friendly"
dahye shrugged, sighing.
