chapter twenty two — no jam?
"okay okay, i was just joking nojam"
jaemin said, puttint his hands up in defense.
"no jam?"
dahye asked in confusion.
"that's jeno's new nickname, jaemin came up with it today and we all just pretty much started calling him that"
haechan explained and dahye nodded in understanding.
they all talked and joked around when someone received a call, judging from the "not today" ringtone, it was more than obvious eunji's.
"who's calling?"
jaeyu asked, trying to peen eunji's phone.
"seungmin~"
eunji sang and said,
"i'll be right back"
and walked out the door to answer the phone call.
"eunji and seungmin, can't relate"
dahye sighed but heard haechan and jaemin, followed by gahyun and jaeyu, fake coughing.
"jeno *cough* is right *cough* there *cough*"
haechan said in between coughs.
"sorry guys, i was trying to state facts but my throat is kind of sore"
he smirked, looking at jeno then at dahye.
"yeah, those facts are so true"
gahyun jokingly rolled her eyes and all the others agreed.
"by the way, my parents should be done cooking soon"
dahye tried to change the subject.
"stop trying to change the subject, but because i'm hungry, i'll let this pass"
jaeyu said and rubbed her stomach.
"i'm guessing we're all hungry so let's wait for eunji and my parents should be done by then"
dahye suggested and they all agreed.
soon, eunji walked in with a grin on her face.
"what did i miss?"
she asked, plopping down on the sofa next to dahye.
"nothing just talking about food"
gahyun replied.
just in time, dahye's dad called from the dining room.
"guys, food is ready!"
the six of them jumped of the couches and waited for dahye to get up.
"you guys can go first, it's fine"
she said and finally stood up, grabbing onto her crutches.
"we're not leaving you and your broken leg behind"
jaeyu pointed out.
"sprained ankle, luckily it's not broken"
dahye replied, chuckling.
they all walked towards the dining room but dahye stayed behind, forcing everyone to go before her so that in case she falls backwards, she isn't falling on anyone. jeno, who was in front, walked to the back, just so he could stay next to dahye. she stumbled a bit and jeno quickly grabbed her arm, holding it.
they eventually arrived at the dining table and sat. jaemin was next to haechan, haechan was next to jeno and as you probably already guessed, jeno was next to dahye while jaeyu, gahyun and eunji sat across from them. of course, dahye wanted to sit with them but they had to force her to sit next to jeno. dahye wasn't mad though, she clearly wanted to sit next to him and the same goes for jeno.
