chapter thirteen — see you, dahye
dahye and her parents eventually finished eating, they walked up to the cashier to pay for their meals but turns out, the cashier rejected and said,
"oh, your meals today will be free. thanks to jeno and his family"
dahye's eyes widened in disbelief she looked over at jeno who was already looking at her with a smile. jeno then walked up to them.
"i hope you enjoyed your meals"
he said with a smile.
"of course, we did. you didn't have to make our meals free"
dahye's dad said with guilt.
"it's fine, dahye's my friend. anything for her"!
jeno placed his arms around dahye's shoulders, but for some reason, "dahye's my friend" kind of, okay maybe, really hurt dahye.
"bye jeno, thank you. tell your parents we said thank you"
"see you, dahye"
jeno waved with his eyesmile.
"it's fine, dahye's my friend. anything for her"
dahye's mom mimicked jeno.
"tell me that isn't the cutest thing a boy said to you"
she continued.
"it would be cute if he didn't call me a friend, wait no, i mean"
dahye blurted out and tried to hide it but it was way too obvious.
"you obviously like him, admit it"
dahye's dad said from the driver's seat.
"fine, fine"
dahye gave up and looked out the window.
it was four a.m and dahye's eyes were still wide awake, she knew she shouldn't have ordered coffe at ten p.m. her hand reached out for her phone on her bedside table and the brightness of the screen blinded her eyes. dahye opened instagram and scrolled through her feeds and watched stories, then a message from jeno popped out.
