Clarisse POV
I swear to the gods if I see one more girl going googly-eyed over Prissy I will not hesitate to spear them.
Percy this and Percy that is all I hear. Not the mention Aphrodite's common 'visits' to camp. Sure maybe he's kinda good looking, and he does and a nice chest with an eight pack and v-lines and maybe he is sort of cute- NO.
Stop it Clarisse honestly. You will not let his stupid aura affect you.
Just concentrate on capture the flag.
"Let's go round the back of bunker 9 and sneak through the very south outskirts of the wood, we will be more hidden there," Percy announced.
"Yeah whatever floats your boat Prissy," I grumbled.
Lou Ellen followed us from behind silently chanting something. I then started to notice that our footsteps made no noise when usually twigs beneath our feet would be snapping and leaves would make crunching noises.
"Sick," I heard Percy whisper to himself.
We moved through the woods with speed now not having to worry about making too much noise.
Suddenly I heard a silent ping as a bowstring snapped back into place and an arrow whizzed past my head.
Percy with fast reflexes threw himself to the ground. Unfortunately, Lou who was behind him was not so fast.
The arrow had been fired with such speed and strength that when it hit Lou's helmet, her helmet knocked into her head, knocking her out on impact.
Our footsteps started to make noise again.
I looked up to see Thalia sitting in a tree a few metres away from us grinning with another arrow placed in her bow ready to fire.
"Wait," Percy demanded, "Thals if you didn't hit her helmet that would have killed her you know."
Thalia loosened her pull on the bowstring and frowned. "I was aiming for you actually."
"Oh thank you very much Pinecone face that makes me feel better," Percy said his voice tinged with fake hurt but maybe a little real hurt as well.
Thalia's eyes widened slightly as she realised what she had implied, "No no, I meant cause your a god you would be okay."
Percy looked at his feet seeming sad. "Yeah whatever," he said dismissively.
Was he actually upset??
Thalia looked guilty and climbed down from her tree.
Just as she was about to reach him he snapped his head up and threw himself towards her. She was knocked over and ended up being pinned to the floor by the god.
"Let your guard down there Thals," he said with his well-known troublemakers half-smirk.
Thalia growled.
As the hunter struggled to get up I noticed something red far in the distance with two girls at each side of it.
"Percy," I hissed pointing to the flag in the distance.
He looked up at saw what I was pointing at.
"Can you get it?" He asked me.
I nodded and took off sprinting towards the enemy's flag. I thought I saw a silver flash from behind me but I assumed it was just my imagination of a hunter running past.
The two hunters guarding the flag, I recognised as the and Dimitra.
I had hoped that it would be some of the newer hunters guarding that I could easily beat, but no such luck as these particular hunters had been with Artemis for hundreds of years.
I might've been able to hold my own up against one of the two, but with both of them, it was unlikely.
Suddenly I heard someone shouting behind me and I looked back to see some of my half-sibling and a couple of Athena campers crash through the clearing.
It was the diversion group, they must've managed to get past the hunters although 90 percent of them had been taken out.
I noticed there were another few hunters on their tail.
"HEY," I called, "CAN I GET A HAND."
My fellow campers saw the predicament and rushed over to join me in defeating the two hunters guarding the flag.
Even with the hunters chasing my friends and siblings joining the group, we still outnumbered them and after about ten minutes I defeated Thea and grabbed the flag and sprinted back to the base, along with two other campers.
When we got there we saw our flag was still intact and many hunters caught in various traps, just looking very dazed and confused or in one case, on fire.
I waved the flag above my head and cheered the rest of the campers joining in with us.
That was until I heard a male voice shouting from back in the thicker bit of the forest. "APOLLO, SOMEONE GET APOLLO!" It yelled.
We all rushed to see what was going on and let me tell you I was shocked.
Percy sat at the floor with Artemis' body sprawled out across the ground and her head in his lap. Ichor poured from a massive gash on her forehead.
Usually, the goddess would have had a fit being so close to a male but she was very clearly unconscious so it didn't matter.
A bright light flashed and the sun god stood frantically trying to do his belt and button his shirt up at the same time.
"Good evening hunters," he said flashing the worried-looking girls standing around a grin, "and campers to I suppose."
Dimitra who had gotten over her defeat scowled at Apollo, "NOT THE FUCKING TIME, LOOK AT YOUR SISTER."
Apollo looked confused before his eyes landed on the goddess of the hunt.
His usually glowing and tan skin paled at the sight of his injured twin.
The god rushed forward and started to nurse his sister.
"What happened," he demanded.
Percy looked incredibly guilty and started apologising.
"I didn't mean to really, I didn't think she would get hurt, I was just-" The younger raven-haired god stuttered out before being cut off.
"Get the fuck away," Apollo barked.
"Wait but-"
"LEAVE!"
Percy nodded in defeat and trailed away from the woods whilst being given angry looks from hunters around him.
How the hell did Percy end up hurting an Olympian this bad?
