Who Is This Chapter Dedicated To?- My Sisters for being so supportive and caring! Thankyou Guys So Much!

There I was, standing in front of one of the most dreaded buildings in the entire city. It was hard to believe that a few weeks ago I was sat on the London Eye, admiring the magnificent view of the city I was about to leave. It pained me to know that in a fortnight I’d be on a train, leaving the only place I had ever called home.

I remember that it was a lovely Saturday morning when my parents decided to tell us their “big news”. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, my brother and I had managed not to rip each others hair out...yet. It was the perfect day, until they had to go and ruin it for all of us. By this I mean that whenever something that I don’t want to happen happens, I go into panic-mode. My brother, on the other hand, doesn’t make a big fuss. Apart from the fact that he jumps up and down, screams at the top of his lungs and cries like a little baby.

When my parents first told us we were moving to Lovelake, a small village at the border of England, we didn’t make a sound. I didn’t go into panic mode this time, I was too shocked. I couldn’t seem to understand why they wanted to move. We were perfectly fine where we were. Dad had a job as an elementary school teacher and mum was a nurse in the local doctor surgery. We had a nice house, sure the washing machine broke and flooded the cellar a few times but we could still manage. And our school was alright too. My brother and I weren’t straight-A students but we were able to get average grades. Why did we need to go?

I guess that I just needed to calm down a bit and listen to my parents and what they had to say about the whole situation.

“Your father and I have been thinking, and we feel it’s best for all of us if we leave London and move somewhere else.” said my mother in a relaxed way. What were they thinking?

“We’ve been looking at houses for a while and we’ve just found the perfect one!” she continued.

We thought for a while, a long while. Then my brother finally found his voice and asked a question.

“W-where is it? Where are we moving to?”

My mother, first looking at my father with excitement then at us said, “We are moving to a little village called...Lovelake.”

“Excuse me, did you just say...Lovelake?” I thought to myself. “In the fourteen years that I have lived in England, I have never heard of a place called Lovelake.”

I thought for a while and then the answer came to me.

“Oh, I understand! You guys are tricking us! Ha, ha! You are comedy wizards. You should have your own television program...” I said, jumping up from my chair and laughing as hard as I could.

“Dionne, what are you doing?” my brother Jack asked me, half-embarrassed and half-amused.

“Don’t you understand, Jack? Lovelake doesn’t exist! Mum and dad are just playing a trick on us. Oh, I know why you’re doing this! We did something bad didn’t we? I didn’t make my bed this morning! That explains everything! I’ll just go and upstairs and do that.” I exclaimed.

My parents and brother were extremely confused. Not only had I pushed the cushions of of the sofa by jumping up and down on it, I had knocked over my brother too.

A few minutes later, I rushed downstairs for breakfast.

“So what are we having?” I asked.

“Having for what?” my father asked, seeming a little bit scared of me. It was like they all thought I was a lunatic.

“For breakfast, obviously. I kind of fancy pancakes this morning...” I continued.

“Darling, we are going to have to have breakfast later. We’ve got packing to do!” my mother told me.

“What packing? Would you cut the act, already? I know we’re not moving, right dad?” I asked, looking at him hopefully. But by this point, I had nearly no hope left.

“I’m afraid we are, Dionne.” he replied.

I looked at him as if to say "WHAT?". My father never lied, under any circumstances. If he said that we were moving, we were. I felt heart-broken and very embarrassed. They thought I was crazy.

And at that point I felt like a lunatic.

My brother and I found out that we were moving to Lovelake a few weeks ago. In that time I've done a lot of two things, packing and research. Even after my parents showed us the picture of our new house and photos of the village, I still didn't believe it was real. It was all too mysterious.

How could I have lived here my whole life and never hear of this so called "Lovelake" town? It just didn't make sense to me. If I could, I would find any reason to convince my parents to let us stay here.

So that's why I started looking it up on the internet, but all I found were some pictures of the nature and wildlife there. I spent ten minutes scrolling down pages and pages of websites with photos of flowers on them. I wasn't finding anything useful or helpful to me. I was about to give up when I found something that was not at all what I was expecting to find.
