i held your hand and didn't let go
sweat crammed the lines of our palmswe had the universe in our hold
all my stars aligned with yoursmy lips brushed your cheeks
your scent got mixed with the air i breathed, it filled my lungs from withinand just like that we weren't two beings but one
and when you left
you took my breath awayi do not exist now
neither do youwe are two separate shells
of the love we once used to beour stars collapsed and
made galaxies of their owni don't belong in yours anymore
neither do youso whose fault was that?
yours? mine? or the universe that made sure we would break apart
even before we metwas it all a dream or were you there when i asked the world to give me pain?
because what is there to write about if not about how i've lived my life in vain
i've been a fool
i should have asked for your hand in mine just a little longermaybe we'd have found our forever in that single moment
or maybe you'd have realized
that i crave your touch
just so i can remind myselfthat there was once a person i loved
and it wasn't you
