"Hold it right there, Hamilton!" Y/N yelled as she entered the office. With a furious march forward together with her crew of walking corpses, she entered and saw that the queen wasn't there. Instead, they saw Samuel talking to Alexander.
However, the mood in the room didn't quite fit the assassination vibe. Samuel didn't look frightened at all. It was Alexander who was pale. "Well, no take-backs now, Alexander," Samuel said as he looked at Y/N. "She's already here. The deal is closed. Go get your son," He coldly stated and turned his gaze back at Alexander who hadn't moved an inch.
"What's going on here?" Y/N asked and attempted to step toward the pair but George grabbed her wrist and pulled her back toward themselves. "Please be on guard," He said and let go of her. "I-..." Y/N sighed as she looked at the two. Alexander didn't dare to look up at them. "Where's the queen?" She asked, staying right where she stood.
"Oh, you'll get to see her in a jiffy. She's having some... Mild problems at the moment," Samuel smiled, making her shiver. "We want to negotiate with her. We want her to let Philip go and-" "That won't be necessary. Alexander already sorted it out for you guys," Samuel said. The four of them looked at Alexander who resembled more of a statue than anything.
"What'd you do?" John asked. "Well, we disclosed a deal. A child for a child," Samuel explained, folding his arms. You could almost hear the kitchen staff down in the basement. That's how silent it was. "You. Did. What?" John spat as Jones held him back from walking over to him and slamming Alexander's face into the expensive wooden desk. Alexander flinched slightly.
"Weren't you listening, Laurens?" Samuel said, jabbing right through his anger. "He traded Y/N in for Philip's freedom and your safety," He explained. "He can't do that! He's not her guardian!" John argued back, stepping in front of Y/N. "Her literal father is right here and he doesn't condone this!" He yelled, pointing at George.
"Actually. The queen wrote a new law back in 1799 due to some human trafficking regulations," Samuel pointed out. "She did what now?" John asked.
"The queen herself is against slavery and tore the laws George implemented to shreds. No slaves were going in or out of this country. To avoid illegal actions from happening in the harbor, she legislated new laws that applied to everyone." Samuel quickly explained.
"One of those laws states: 'If you're over 21 and traveling with people under 21, you are the Guardian no matter your parental status,'" Samuel said. "Oof, that's a bit on the nose, isn't it?" Jones said. "It might be but that gives Alexander the right to act as if it was his own child," Samuel shrugged. "So unless you feel like defying the law, again, I suggest all of you leave Y/N and take Philip home," He said.
"How about," George said after remaining silent for so long. "No," He said, drawing out his sword from its holder and swinging it right at Samuel. As the blade was headed straight ahead, Samuel didn't flinch an inch. It was almost as if he knew the sword wouldn't hit him. Not because George was prepared to end him right then and there. But because Samuel knew Alexander had a sword as well.
The clashing of metal surprised everyone but Samuel. George looked up and saw a cowered Alexander right in front of Samuel, pressing George's sword away from him with his own. "Seriously?" George asked with gritted teeth. "Well, I'll leave you to it," Samuel said and patted Alexander's shoulder before taking a few steps back.
"What do you think you're doing?" George asked, looking Alexander right in the eye. "He's my ticket to get my son back to his mother safely. I am not backing down from that opportunity," Alexander sneered, pushing George off of him. "You're a father, you would understand. Wouldn't you?" He asked George before slashing his sword toward George. "No! No, I wouldn't! I would never trade in your son's life for Y/N's sake. She wouldn't want me to!" George yelled, blocking his strike. "You're just lying to make yourself look better!" Alexander argued back.
Y/N watched in horror as they fought. Between the clashing and yelling, she saw Samuel stare right at her. Staring right through her soul as if he was trying to mock her for not putting an end to the fighting. As if this, in its entirety, was her fault.
Turns out she didn't even have to make a decision herself. The guards, who were locked up in the kitchen, bashed through the door and lept toward the office. The big doors slammed open and bayonets were aimed at everyone. The guards were with too many and so Jones and John had to give in and put their hands up.
They grabbed George and Alexander. "Get the young man in the throne room as well. Throw all of them in the dungeon except the girl," Samuel instructed. "Wait, wait, wait, wait! You were going to let all of us go!" Alexander yelled as one of the guards tried to escort him out.
"Too bad so sad," Samuel pouted.
"Let them go!" Y/N said, stepping toward Samuel. "I'm sorry. But since you haven't earned your title as the princess, I don't have any obligation to listen to you," Samuel hissed at her. "I don't have any obligations to listen to you either!" Y/N sneered back. "Well. We literally have all of your friends," Samuel pointed out. "Ah, shiet, that's right," Y/N mumbled.
"That doesn't mean you're going to get me to cooperate though!" Y/N retaliated which made Samuel smile in amusement. "Let's talk to your mother and then see how this will play out," He suggested. She glared at him as he smiled.
"Fine. I've been waiting to talk to her for a long time,"
