Philip had to catch Y/N so she didn't lose balance and fall through her knees. "Are you okay?" Philip asked as she swung her arm over his shoulders. She stared at her father with big glassy eyes. She had only ever seen him on portraits her mother had hanging around the house. He looked so different. If it wasn't for his eyes, she wouldn't even have recognized him.
"Are these your children?" John asked Alexander as he stood in between George and Jones, and Alexander. "No, Laurens, the girl is yours," Alexander spat back. John widened his eyes. "I-" "Save your breath, you have a lot of explaining to do," Alexander sneered.
Jones invited the three inside to talk about this in private and so they did.
"I want an explanation!" Alexander yelled as he slammed his fist against the table in the kitchen. The three dead men walking were seated down at that table while Alexander, Y/N, and Philip were standing right across from them.
"You three owe me an explanation, Laurens owes Y/N a DAMN GOOD explanation and Philip is just here for mental support so Y/N and I don't tear your house into two equal pieces and toss them into the sea. If your explanations ain't CRYSTAL CLEAR, and I mean SO CRYSTAL CLEAR that we don't even have to ask any questions after you're done saving your a$$, I will personally make sure that George gets into the hands of the queen herself!" He yelled at the three as they all looked down.
"So I guess we'll start from the start and let 'captain Jones' explain why he is still alive!" Alexander said and folded his arms.
"First of all, I'd like to say that you're being awfully disrespectful, Hamilton-" "DISRESPECTFUL?!" Alexander screamed. "I had to sail away and explain to everyone you knew that you had died and that we couldn't even find your damn body! If I'm the disrespectful one, then what're you, captain?!" Alexander said making Jones look down.
"... Samuel pushed us off the roof," Jones mumbled. "What?" Alexander asked. "When you chased after Y/N and left us alone with Samuel, he decided to switch sides and pushed us off the roof into the canal," He continued.
"Sorry, Jones, I'm with the Queen now,"
With that, Samuel let go of Jones and stomped the remainder of his body off the roof. He looked down and saw both Jones and George fall down and hit the canal with a huge plunge. Being pretty sure both of them were dead, Samuel frowned adjusted his jacket and nonchalantly walked away from the scene of the crime.
"We survived, obviously, and after George explained everything, we made a compromise to stay out of each other's way. I was planning to go back to America and he wanted to be left alone in Britain. I went to the harbor and announce that I had made it out alive but my face was put on a poster and plastered around the entire kingdom. There was no way I was getting in or out. Especially since the queen demanded that everyone's identity be checked every so often. I reunited with George who had found an old cottage in the woods and stayed with him for a while," Jones explained.
"And how'd you find that cottage, George?" Alexander asked and turned to George. He seemed a bit shaky from the entire meeting. He had never been this silent in his entire life. "My father decided when I was a kid, that I should be out and about more. He built this cottage for me when I was eleven years old to play outside. I remembered it was still there and decided to hide in there for a bit. Jones was lucky enough to stumble upon me when I was outside,"
"We're not in a cottage right now, though? How'd that happen?" Alexander asked. "That was my doing," John said. "I don't even know how you would start explaining your story. You died with your troops at Combahee River. I got a letter from your father telling me you were dead! YOU left your daughter and wife to fend for themselves!" Alexander sounded very upset about it. Maybe a tad more than Y/N who had tears running down her cheeks.
"Where were you when I needed you?!" He yelled.
John, with a straight face, started to explain: "I was shot at Combahee River, that part wasn't a lie. However, they left me laying on the battlefield and after everyone was gone, I managed to stand up and move toward a river. A few locals helped me out and offered to give me a lift home but..." John stopped talking. "But what?" Alexander asked. "I didn't want to go home to my wife and kid,"
Y/N immediately walked out of the room with Philip chasing her. They heard the door being opened and slammed shut. She dropped against the side of the house outside and hugged her knees. Philip sat next to her and threw his arms around her. After holding every little sound in for a while, Y/N finally whimpered and clutched her hands around Philip's sleeves.
"So you're not only a liar but also a coward," Alexander said and looked back at John. "I-I wasn't happy, Alexander!" John argued. "That's no reason to let your child be raised alone!" He spat back. "Let's just get this over with so Y/N never has to see your face ever again. What happened next?" Alexander asked.
"I fled back to where I thought I would be safe. England. I could just live out my days in peace. I hired a place, this place, and went on with my life as if nothing happened. Jones recognized me when I was out shopping and we all decided to move in together to have some kind of company," John said, finishing the story. "So that's it? You've been living your life in the shade of the queen," Alexander shook his head in disapproval. "Disgusting," He said before turning around and walking away.
"Alexander, wait," John said as he stood up, reaching toward him. "Touch me and I'll cut your hand off," Alexander said, backing away. "I'm going to do what I was ordered to do nineteen years ago by Washington and then I'm, hopefully, going to leave and never come back here ever again!" He sneered and stepped toward the door.
"You're going to kill Y/N?" George asked from the table.
Alexander turned around. "I'm going to kill Y/N L/N for everything she has done to my country," He said. "That's a suicide mission!" Jones argued and stood up as well. "I have made peace with that," Alexander said. "Alex, you can't do that!" John said. "Well, too bad," Alexander answered and put his hand on the doorknob. "Don't do the same thing I did!" John told him. "Don't disappear as I did!" John said.
"I'm not disappearing. I'm dying with honor, you coward," And with that, Alexander slammed the door shut.
