"You," George sneered as he grabbed Samuel by the collar, shoving his heels off the edge. Samuel put his hands up, staring right at George. "Okay, okay, okay, calm down," he said as he glanced to the side for a second. "We can handle this like adults-" "Shut up!" George hissed, jerking Samuel further off. Samuel grasped for George's collar and nervously smirked. "You won't do it," He said. "Oh, yes I will," George barked back.
As this was going on, Philip remembered that Y/N was still on the ground. He quickly turned around and saw her in curling up in pain. He quickly crouched down beside her and saw that she was clutching her stomach with shaky hands. "Y/N, where does it hurt?" He asked in a panic. "It feels like my skin is on fire," Y/N gritted her teeth through the pain.
A sudden flashback from the boiling water falling on Y/N shot back into Philip's mind. He winced just thinking about how hot that water must've been. "I'll get you some cold wet towel as soon as I can," Philip assured as he grabbed Y/N's jacket and tied it tightly around her stomach to compress it. He looked aside and saw that George was still holding onto Samuel.
"How about you let me go before I swing your a$$ off this roof?" Samuel asked George. "How about I punch your skull out of your skin and use it as a cup like the Scythians used to do?" George threatened.
"George!" Philip called from behind. "WHAT?!" George yelled, still staring at Samuel. "Y/N's injured," He said. "What?" He quickly said and looked directly at Philip. "There was some boiling water poured over her back in the kitchen. She's only feeling it now,"
"Oh nooo! What a conundrum," Samuel pouted. "I will break your neck if you don't shut it," George said, grasping his collar tighter. "Well your daughter is kinda suffering over there and you could've thrown me off the roof to help her. But ya didn't," Samuel smiled.
George's face turned sour because he knew Samuel was right. So instead he pulled him back on the roof, punched him in the gut, and tossed him aside to aid Y/N. Samuel fell to his knees and scraped his elbows.
George crouched down next to Philip. He quickly checked her stomach and saw how her stomach was red and forming some blisters. "Go down and get some cold water from the kitchen," George told Philip as he looked at Y/N. "What about that?" Philip said and pointed at Samuel who was looking at scraped elbows. "I'll manage," George said. "I don't think you'll be able to handle this in a civilized manner-" Philip slowly said.
"I'll take care of it. Now go," George denied.
Reluctantly, Philip nudged Y/N, giving her a heads-up that he was going to grab her. He picked her up bridal-style, avoiding the burnt area as much as he could. She silently hissed in pain, putting her arms around his neck. He gave Samuel a look before going to the ladder with Y/N.
"George," Philip called before he descended fully. "Please don't do something you'll regret later," He said as George blankly stared at Philip but nodded before looking back at Samuel.
"What happened?" Y/N mumbled into Philip's neck as he slowly let her go through the window. "That's a tough question," Philip admitted, going through the open window himself. "You tried to kill me," He sighed as he helped Y/N sit down, leaning her against the wall. "But you didn't look like yourself. Your eyes were a weird shade of purple. I think Samuel may have had a part in that,"
A headache started arising when Y/N tried to think back to what happened with the queen and Samuel when they were alone. "I think I read your journal," She mumbled. "Yeah. Yeah, you told me that," Philip sighed, scratching his head. "You kinda yelled at me about how wrong I was to keep tabs on you," He said.
"It is wrong," Y/N said. "I know. I'm sorry for doing that. I'm sorry for everything I said in that journal. I was just being a sour, whiny baby," Philip sighed, holding his arms out again so he could pick her up. "Let's bring you to the dungeon first. It's cooler there and the kitchen is just up the stairs," He said, picking her up.
"The others should still be there," He mumbled as he started walking. He picked up the speed when he finally saw the door leading to the dungeon. Quickly, he descended the stairs and as he made his way through the cooler catacombs, he saw a group sitting at the cell where Y/N had been locked up in earlier. "-so temporarily fleeing to another country would be the best option," He heard John explain.
"That'd be very difficult though," Arahz sighed before seeing Philip. "What are you doing here?!" He said, approaching him and later seeing Y/N. "She came to her senses and the burning spot is getting to her. She needs water," Philip quickly explained. "On it!" John said and ran toward the exit to get the water.
"Hold on. We're missing someone," Alexander said as he helped Y/N sit down. "George," Philip said, removing the jacket around Y/N's stomach, revealing the burnt area. "Where is he?" Arahz asked. "On the roof with Samuel," Philip sighed. "You left them alone?!" Arahz almost yelled. "I had no choice! Y/N's wound is already getting worse by the minute!" Philip yelled back.
"Okay, calm down! Both of you!" Jones intervened. "Yelling isn't going to help anyone," He said and kneeled down beside Y/N. Just then, John came running back with a bucket of water and a white cloth. Jones applied the soaked cloth on Y/N's stomach. She winced but felt a sense of relief.
As Philip looked at Y/N, he felt at ease. Knowing she was getting some kind of care put his concerns to rest. But as the peace settled, the sudden knowledge that George was still up there with Samuel washed in.
"Please don't do something you'll regret later,"
Philip closed his eyes, letting his own words twirl around his mind.
'Yeah, right. As if that was going to prevent the inevitable'
"What a father," Samuel coughed. "Making sure that the daughter he never knew he had is safe," He said. "Arahz and Y/N are the only family members I have left. Their mother got killed by some jerk-face," George sneered.
"The queen was a fool," Samuel mumbled as he slowly rose to his feet. "She wasn't fit to rule," He said, looking up at George. "Even so, she didn't deserve to die and especially by your hands," George argued back. "She contributed to this country and that's all she had to do!" He said.
"Contributed?!" Samuel yelled at the glaring George. "I had to do everything," He hissed. "Advise her, sign all the paperwork, teach her all the laws, tell her what to do," He summed up. "When she told me 'Oh, Samuel. I want my daughter back because I regret what I did!' she didn't even have a clear plan. I came up with the plan!"
George slowly bit down as he stared at Samuel. "Good riddance that she's dead! She is the most useless piece of sh*t out of all the Y/Ns I have ever-" The last few words fell on deaf ears as George, blinded by rage, shoved Samuel. He tripped over the edge and fell back-first toward the ground.
The few seconds after that were completely silent. Even the wind seemed to momentarily fall silent. He stared down for a bit before taking a deep breath in.
And out.
