The time had came sooner than I expected, and I was on my way to pick up Adela. I some how managed to sneak out of the house without making any noises, of course until I had to turn on the the car and I sped out of there so fast.
On my way to Adela's I had to try to remember where she told me before, all I remember was the street name and how she described her house. I drove for a few minutes in her what I hoped was her neighborhood, and I saw a house I knew that just had to be hers. I knew because she was climbing down from a long rope from her bedroom.
I had parked near her, and she had jumped down when she saw me, she ran to my car and opened it breathlessly. I laughed and zoomed out of her neighborhood. She was still putting on her seat belt and was trying to catch her breath.
"Oh my goodness darling, that was one of the scariest things to do", she said still trying to breathe normally.
"I thought you snuck out all the time?", I asked confused.
"I do! Just my nanny was knocking on my door until I told her to leave because I was going to sleep", she said finally taking a deep breath and coughing in the end.
"Okay well let's pray we don't get caught now",I said confidently.
On our drive there she would blast her favorite jazz songs and just sing along to them so beautifully that it sounded like something the angels from heaven would sing. She would put down the window and lay on her hands out the window and just enjoy the wind blowing, she seemed so amazed and so free it seemed as if we were in a movie.
Finally we had reached our destination and I had parked inside of a garage, we began to walk around the giant buildings, and how the crowd was so full of people even at this time of night. She held my hand tight, I think it was because she was scared of getting lost or something. Finally we saw a building with the lights on and decided to enter, it seemed as if it was a bank or some kind of business building.
She walked in and was scanning the room looking for an elevator or even stairs to get to the top floor.
"There's an elevator!", she pointed right to it.
We walked over and clicked on the top floor, she had been carrying something with her in her giant backpack that I had noticed back in the car.
"Amor, let me hold your backpack, it looks heavy and you're beginning to slouch", I said frowning.
"No it's fine darling, I got it", she said grinning.
She had squeezed my hand tightly and would let go of her grip, i looked at her and kissed her cheek softly. She turned her head kissed me on my lips, bitting my bottom lip and running her hands through my hair until we heard a ding, we stopped.
I didn't notice we were on the top floor so quickly.
"Lets go", she said practically jumping off the elevator.
I followed behind her and she looked scanning the lobby for stairs that will lead to the roof, she had found it and squealed, pouncing at the door.
I ran behind her laughing, when she finally opened the door, it was dark and the warm summer wind was blowing slightly. The other lights from the buildings were so bright we were able to see around us.
She sat down her backpack and pulled out a small vinyl, placing it on the ac machines , she pulled out a small record and had placed it on top of the vinyl. She turned it on, and out came I'll be seeing you by Billie Holiday.
"I love this song", I said, reaching out my hand for her to grab onto.
"As do I!", she said grabbing onto my hands.
