Chapter 14

3rd Person POV

8:57 pm

"Are you sure we're going the right way?" Zenitsu asked.

"Yes, I think it's that town. Look." Tanjirou said while pointing to a town that was really bright and only a little bit of people walking in them.

"LET'S HURRY UP THEN!!! WE DON'T WANNA MISS THE APPEARANCE OF THOSE DEMONS, DO WE?!" Inosuke shouted.

Kanao's POV

As we were getting nearer the village, I started getting chills.

Then as we got there, it was getting awfully familiar, even some of the people.

They were also giving me weird looks and whispering, and pointing to some house. Were they talking about our clothes, or maybe our swords? Maybe that house is traditional on the inside, matching our attire? No, it doesn't look like it.

They were only looking at me and then back to the house, then back to me and whispering. Really.

Then finally it hit me.......

This town.........

That exact house..........

This was where..........

Was where I grew up being abused......

And as I came to that realization I felt the strength leaving my legs.

Thousands of memories came flooding into my head. What's worse is that they were very vivid. Again, I felt the pain of those wounds. Again, I felt the pain of those bruises they gave me. Again, I felt the agony of not being able to fight back.

At that moment, I didn't notice a tear streaming down my eye.

"Kanao, are you alright?" Tanjirou asked while wiping the tear, breaking my trance.

I hugged him....

"Thank you Tanjirou. Thank you so much for saving me from those horrible memories."

Tanjirou's POV

As we were looking around, I saw people throwing nasty glares and whispers at Kanao. I looked at her and it seems that she doesn't mind, so I pushed it to the back of my mind and started asking people.

After a few questions to some of the townspeople. I noticed that Kanao was looking somewhere.........

It was a house.

I looked at her and she seemed as if in a daze.

So I came nearer to her.

I was right. She was in a daze, for she didn't notice a tear streaming down her cheeks.

"Kanao, what's wrong?" I asked as I wiped the tear.

She hugged me, gaining the attention of some, and whispered something in my ear.

"Thank you Tanjirou. Thank you so much for saving me from those horrible memories." She whispered as she cried silently.

"Shh.... Kanao, it's alright. I'm here for you." I whispered back.

A few seconds later, she pulled away and looked at me. "I'm sorry." She said.

"Why?" I asked.

"For distracting you on our mission." She replied.

"It's okay. Besides, do you wanna talk about it?" I asked.

"What?"

"Your problem."

"Oh, it's nothing."

"It's not nothing if it made you cry."

"I just cried, what's wrong with it?"

"Come on, we're talking about you. And you don't cry unless there's a reason."

"Okay, fine you got me. I'll tell you later. After we kill that demon."

"Okay."

Then we asked people, well us three. They didn't want to have anything to do with Kanao, which made me wonder even more.

"It's already 9:18 pm, do you think these people actually know anything? By now only a little people are roaming and most of them, we have already asked." Zenitsu said.

"We have to atleast-*sniff sniff* I smell a demon and it's coming nearer." I said as I ran to my right where there was a long and dark alley. The people said that the bodies were usually found in alleyways. The scent.......it's getting stronger, which means I'm going the right way. I looked back and saw that they were running after me.

Then I stopped. There was a different scent with the demon. It's smell tells me that it's a human male, and they're just around the corner.

I motioned to my friends that the demon is just around the corner, and Inosuke being........well..........him, ran to the demon and yelled: "DIE!!!!" 

And he decapitated the demon.

"Are you alright, sir?" I asked the man.

"Y-yes, th-thank you very much. Wh-what was that?" He asked.

"That was a demon, sir." I explained.

"D-demon?" The man asked.

"Yes, sir-" I was cut off because I smelled the scent of many other demons coming here. "More demons." I said and stood up.

Hey guys, sorry for the short chapter, I didn't want to keep any of you waiting forever for the next chpater so I just kinda rushed the ending of this chapter. (I just realized I haven't updated in 5 days....... Haha...... Sorry)
