Chapter 16

3rd Person POV

"Do you remember me now?" Amane asks.

Kanao, now crying hard, says: "O-onii-chan? I'm sorry. I'm really sorry onii-chan."

Amane, being the good big brother he is, hugs her and says: "Shh..... It's okay."

"Wh-what about Tsukasa nii-chan?" Kanao asked.

"Oh, Tsukasa, he's already asleep." Came Amane's reply.

"Okay, okay. Can someone explain to me what actually happened." Zenitsu said.

"Kanao, you haven't told them yet?" Amane asked.

Kanao shook her head.

"Well, is it okay if we tell them?" Amane asked again.

"Okay, they are some of my closest friends after all." Kanao replied.

"Please come in, so I can tell you our story." Amane said, leading them inside.

Once inside, he gave them tea to make themselves comfortable. He sat down and started his story...

Flashback

"You little brat! How many times have I told you to not come in here!" A man shouted and beat an eight year old girl. "I-I'm sorry, father!" She apologized. "Ouch! Please stop!" She said as she lay on the ground of their once happy home, at least when their mother was still alive, bleeding and bruised.

"Father! Please stop this already!" Pleaded a boy about eleven years of age. "And what are you gonna do about it huh? You little piece of $#!+! (A/n I told you.) And how many times have I told you to not call me that?! Come here!" The man said, but the boy didn't obey. "I said come here!" He repeated. "N-no, Ts-Tsukasa n-nii-chan. Run. Get out of here. You're gonna get hurt." The little girl pleaded to her older brother.

"No. I'm not leaving you here." He replied.

"Awwh, how nice. NOW COME HERE SO I CAN GIVE YOU A PROPER BEATING AND GET YOU TO LEARN TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!!"

Minutes have passed, but the beating still continued. Until another one of his son came into the room........

Yugi Amane, the oldest of the three siblings.

"Father! Please stop! Stop this! You do this everyday!" Amane pleaded and got on his knees, just so his father would listen.

"AND WHO ARE YOU TO TALK, HUH?!" He shouted and went to his son to beat him.

This was only one of the days in their life. As days passed, they get beaten more and more everyday. But, on one particular day, the youngest of them, Kanao, finally had it. She would escape and report him to the police. She did her plan and tried to escape. Unfortunately for her, she was caught. That day, was probably the most painful day, for on that day, she had endured the most pain. Yes, the most, it was what had caused her to be emotionless and numb.

After that, she was left outside to die. In the morning, they expected to find the corpse of a little girl. But instead, they only found traces of blood here and there, so they assumed that someone had done that job and had disposed of her already.

They thought she was dead, except for Amane and Tsukasa, they knew, somewhere in their heart that their beloved little sister had escaped her death.

By that night, the police arrived at their house, with a warrant of arrest for their father, for child abuse.

They knew it, their sister was alive! She had reported their abusive father to the police! She saved them. Although, when the police came, there was something missing, or someone rather, so they asked the police of her whereabouts. They said that she was adopted in the police station by two women that happened to be passing by.

From that day on, they were free, but they had to be sent to an orphanage. Soon, they were adopted by their kindhearted teacher: Tsuchigomori-sensei. That same teacher was also the one who had bought their house that they had grown up in.

End of Flashback

By the end of Amane's story, Kanao was crying again, but this time, harder, as if she had let loose her emotions that she had bottled up over the years. Tanjirou was comforting her, but it doesn't help a lot.

"Amane, who's there?" A man asked, coming out of his room.

"Oh! Tsuchigomori-sensei!" Amane said, surprised. (A/n Yes, they call him sensei, he likes sensei more than father/dad. {Obviously just made up})

"Sensei? Amane? What's going on?" Another boy asked coming out of his room.

"Ts-Tsukasa n-nii-ch-chan?" Kanao asked looking at the boy who had just come out of his room.

"Kanao! Kanao! Kanaooooo!!! We knew it!!! We knew you weren't dead, like what they said! We missed youuu!!!!" Tsukasa shouted as he ran to give Kanao a bear hug.

"I missed my two big brothers too." Kanao said hugging him back.

"So, you are their missing little sister." Tsuchigomori said.

"Hai, Tsuchigomori-sensei." Kanao said while pulling away from Tsukasa's bear hug.

"Then, who are those three boys?" He asked.

"I'm Kamado Tanjirou."

"Agatsuma Zenitsu."

"AND I'M HASHIBIRA INOSUKE!!!!!" Inosuke shouted.

"Inosuke!" Tanjirou and Zenitsu reprimanded Inosuke, then Tanjirou turned to Amane, Tsukasa, and Tsuchigomori-sensei. "I'm sorry for our friend Inosuke, he's very loud."

"Oh, it's okay." Amane said with a smile.

"Kanao, do you want to stay here first while we check for any more demons?" Tanjirou asked.

"Is it okay with you to let me stay here for a while?" Kanao asked Tanjirou.

"Sure, they probably want to know what happened to you these past years." Tanjirou said.

"Is it okay with you nii-chan, if I stay here first?" Kanao asked Amane.

"Sure, sure. Imouto-san." Amane said.

"Well then, it's settled. Kanao will stay here, while we look for more demons." Tanjirou said.

"Ummm.... Excuse me. Demons?" Tsuchigomori asked confused.

"Kanao, please." Tanjirou said.

"Hai. I will explain to them our job." Kanao replied.

"Okay, we're off!" Tanjirou said then disappeared with Zenitsu and Inosuke.

"What?" Amane, Tsukasa and Tsuchigomori asked wide eyed.
