xi. 'good' first day of public school

i woke up to my alarm. mattia started to grunt and oaid his head at the crook of my neck.
"cmon mattia, we got to go to school," i whispered patting his back lightly. he didnt respond, so i removed my arm from his back and got my phone. i saw that it was only 5:47 am and we had to leave at 6:55. mattia then grabbed my phone and dropped it beside him, "can you stop taking my phone, tia?"

instead of arguing, i decided to just lay down with him for a few more minutes. so, i moved to get comfortable. now mattia was spooning me. just as i was about to fall asleep mattia's mom came in and told us to get ready. when she came in she smiled and yelled at us to get. mattia finally got the hint to get up so he went straight to the bathroom.

i went towards my clothes and got a white tank top, high waisted jeans, and white nike air forces. i quickly slipped into them before mattia came out of the bathroom. i sprayed perfume on me and put on some light makeup. once i was finished, mattia came out with only a towel around his waist.

"ready?" mattia asked while laughing and going to his closet.
"um, yea. i just need to brush my teeth and do my hair," i stuttered and walked very fast to the bathroom.
i brushed my teeth then put my hair up in a messy bun. i walked out the bathroom to mattia drying his hair.

"im ready!" i exclaimed as i plopped myself on his bed and made a tiktok, which was just me playing around and turning the camera towards mattia. once he was ready it was about 6:45. alejandro and kairi were gonna meet us outside the school. mattia and i grabbed our macbooks and bookbags and met his dad at the car.

his dad left us at the entrance, so mattia and i started to walk towards alejandro.
"where is kairi," i asked alejandro as we walked inside the building.
"he wanted to sleep in. i even went to pick him up but his mom said that he wasn't feeling the greatest last night," he explained.

we then let alejonadro go off with his other friends while mattia led me to the office.
"hello mattia! this must be your girlfriend, tatum," the secretary greeted as she extended her hand out for me to shake, which i quickly did.
"well, tatum you will have the same class as mattia except for physical education. luckily, one of our students that is really sweet and nice, her name is lydia. she would be meeting up with you at the library so you guys have can do work," she politely told me as she handed me a paper and two textbooks.

"and these text books?" i asked as mattia took them from the counter.
"these books were given to you from your manager. its for your history and english classes," she said quickly then started to type on her computer.
"ok, thank you," i mumbled as mattia led me out the office and to our first class.

we went to math class with alejandro and robert that i had just met a few seconds ago. mattia and i sat in the back since each desk has two seats. i got out my computer so i could start doing my home. i then started to look for my phone in my bag.

"tia, do you know where my phone is," i asked as i kept searching my bag.
"i took it away from you this morning, did you not get it?" he asked.
"no, dumbass," i answered frustrated.

the first bell rang, mattia and i were just on my laptop until we got interrupted by someone tapping my shoulder.
"um, excuse me. you're in my seat," a girl said to me with an attitude.
"ok then. lets go tia," i said getting up.
"no sweetie, i was talking to you only," she said going to sit in my seat until i sat back down.
"i dont know who you are but you will not sit next to my boyfriend," i argued as i grabbed mattia's hand and showed it to her.

just as she was about to answer, the second bell rang which meant the teacher was coming.
"jenna, go to a seat please," the teacher said.
i smiled a little bit as i sat back and looked towards tia and saw a smirk on his face.

"today and for the next few days tatum, there that is sitting next to mattia, is going join us," he said as he just smiled at me.
for the rest of the morning the first three classes were very long. next class for me was a study hall with lydia. mattia had to rush off to pe due to him being caught up by many of his friends. i walked in the empty hallway and made my way towards the library. i walked in and took an empty chair and went into the books and saw my favorite book, looking for alaska by john green on the shelf. so, i picked it up and sat on the ground to start reading.

"you must be tatum," a feminine said after about twenty minutes of me sitting on the ground.
"its that obvious?" i asked get up from the ground.
"pretty much. people here dont usually sit on the ground to read a book other then to smoke or you know," she explained as she walked towards the table i placed my things.
"im lydia by the way," she said sticking out her hand out for me to shake.

after a while of lydia and i talking and doing assignments. i was able to finish half a day work. i met mattia at the cafeteria. the rest of the day went by very slow. as mattia and i walked home since his parents were working. once we got home, mattia and his friends went out to a friend's party.

i sat at in bed and watched the office until i got interrupted by a bunch of tags from instagram. it was an edit of mattia and a girl on his lap, then him eating her face off at the end.

i stared at it in disbelief and decided to just ignore it.
its not like i like him or anything.
it shouldn't affect me, right?

right?
