Chapter 42

Jiaqi's POV

It's now night time and we just finished having our dinner.

Each of us went to do our own business.

Yu Yan and Keni went somewhere I don't know.

Dai Meng and Eliwa are just inside the room.

Xiaotang and Shuxin are also inside our room. I don't eant to stay there and just be a third wheel.

While I'm just here sitting on one of the chairs in the dining room.

Xueer? I have no idea where she is. She didn't tell me.

Why would she, right?

She doesn't even talk to me.

After a few moments, I heard someone going down stairs.

It's just Dai Meng.

"Hey, Jiaqi."

She greeted before pulling out another chair to sit on.

"Uhm. Hey."

I said.

"What are you doing?"

She asked me.

"Nothing at all. I'm just thinking of stuffs in here."

I said. It's true though.

"Hmm."

"Do you know where Xueer is?"

She asked.

"Uhm. No. How would I know, right?"

I said. Yeah. How would I know when she's avoiding me?

"She went to the shore. Why don't you go after her?"

She said and I just wondered why she's saying that to me?

Why would I go to Xueer?

"You two aren't really in good terms and I know that you both don't know the reason why. This is your chance, Jiaqi. Make sure not to lose this anymore. I'm going now."

She said and left me alone.

Should I really go to Xueer?

But what if she ran away when she saw me?

Whatever.

I'll just go.

I'll rather try than lose this opportunity.

I finally arrived at the shore where Xueer is and luckily spotted her quickly because she's the only one there.

She didn't saw me because I'm behind her and she didn't hear my footsteps because the ocean's waves.

She's staring at the stars again.

Still as beautiful as ever.

"A milk for your thoughts?"

I said with a bottle of milk on my right hand.

She just looked at me without any expression.

"I know that my joke is lame but do you want this?"

I asked.

"Thanks."

She said before getting the bottle of milk.

I sat beside her and opened mine to drink it.

After a few minutes of silence, I decided to speak up.

"H-How are you?"

I asked and it took her some time to answer me.

Is she mad?

Does she not want to talk to me?

"I'm all fine, Jiaqi. How about you?"

She asked.

She didn't even spare a look at me.

But it's fine.

Atleast she talked to me.

"Likewise."

I replied and she just nodded.

"We suddenly avoided each other again."

I startes to stop the awkward silence from sorrounding us.

"Did we?"

She asked.

Playing dumb, huh?

We clearly did, Xueer. We did.

"But why Xueer? Why?"

I asked trying my best no to crack my voice.

"Maybe because we've been both busy these days, Jiaqi."

She replied.

Busy?

2 months?

In that 2 months? We're both busy?

Wow. Just wow.

"I'm all focused on my studies and Xukun while you in your own stuffs."

She continued.

Right.

Xukun.

They got back together.

"Oh yeah. How are you and that Xukun?"

I asked.

"All fine. He already reflected from his wrong doings. We're doing fine."

She replied.

That guy is so damn lucky.

He owned you.

Twice.

"How about you and Lingzi?"

She then asked.

"What about us?"

I asked.

"Your relationship. You looked so happy together. I'm glad she's taking care of you. She obviously love you as much as you love her."

She said while still looking at the sky.

"Really? Me and Lingzi are fine."
