Chapter 24

Jiaqi's POV

I'm now currently driving home with Xueer beside me. She's so quiet. Is she really not feeling well?

I decided to hold her hand with my right hand while my other hand was left on the steering wheel.

She looked at me as I held her hands and just flashed me a smile.

"Did you enjoy our first date?"

I asked while my eyes are still on the road.

"F-First d-date?"

She said while stuttering.

"Well, I consider that as our date. How about you?"

I said.

"Hmm. Right. It's a date. Don't worry. I enjoyed it."

She replied and I just gave her a smile.

"Aren't you feeling really well?"

I asked worriedly.

"J-Jiaqi. Sorry. I didn't tell you sooner."

She started which made me looked at her in confusion.

"Sorry? Didn't tell sooner? What is it? What do you mean?"

I asked.

"T-The guy earlier."

She started.

"Hmm. I remember. What about him?"

I asked.

"H-He is my ex-boyfriend."

She said which made me stopped and accidentally stepped on my car's break.

The cars at our back started horning and that made me get back to my senses.

"Jiaqi! Don't do that again! We almost died!"

Xueer shouted but I didn't tell her anything.

I continued driving until we arrived at home.

I still didn't talk to her or even give her a look until we got home.

"J-Jiaqi. Are you mad?"

She said as she sat on my bed while I just gave her a single glance and put back my attention on the book that I'm reading.

"Jiaqi. I-I'm sorry that I d-didn't tell you sooner."

She said as I saw tears started to flow down her cheeks.

It made me guilty so I went near her and hugged her.

"Shh. You don't need to be sorry. I understand."

I said and started rubbing circles on her back to calm her down.

After a while, She finally calmed down and let go off the hug.

"I'm really sorry, Jiaqi."

She said again without looking at me.

"I told you, It's fine. I'm not mad."

I said.

"Then why did you ignore me earlier? Why didn't you talk to me after our talk in the car?"

She asked and looked at me directly.

I'm also wondering why.

I just don't know why I did those.

I'm probably out of my mind again.

"Look. You're not answering me! It's because you're really mad!"

She said and started giving me light punches on my shoulder.

"I told you that I'm not."

I said. Stopping her from punching me more.

She then finally stopped giving me punches and looked at me straightly.

"Then why did you ignore me?"

She said almost tearing up again.

If you just know. I'm also wondering why I did.

But I already thought about the reason why I did it.

I'm not sure but I think it's the real reason.

It took me a while before I answer her.

I'm still hesitating whether I should tell her or not.

I'm afraid that she'll be getting the wrong idea.

"Will you answer me or I'll be the one to ignore you?"

She said.

I have no choice but to give her the answer on my mind.

"I got scared."

I started.

"Scared? What the fuck do you mean? His face isn't scary at all."

She said. She really didn't get what I just said.

"I'm scared, Xueer. Not because of his appearance but because of what I'm feeling."

I added.

This is it.

I'll tell her.

"I don't wanna lose you, Xueer. Never. I love you."

I said and she looked at me with a shocked face.

"W-What?"

She asked me, confused.

"You're my friend. I love you and of course I don't wanna lose you."

I said but she didn't reply.

"I'm afraid that he came back just to get you. Then bring you back to Korea. I don't want that to happen."

I asked and she didn't reply again.

She's just staring at me. I can't tell the emotion on her face.

"Xueer?"

I called out and she finally got back to her senses.

"Oh yeah? Yeah. Right. We're friends. We love each other. We don't wanna lose each other."

She said without looking at me.

Did I say something wrong?

"Keep that in mind. I love you."

I said.

Y'all thought that Jiaqi's going to confess that she love Xueer romantically right? Sadly, Nope. Let's not forget that Jiaqi loves Lingzi. Not Xueer. Yet.
