I huffed out a sigh as I let the cool water from the small waterfall behind me draped down my back. I found myself in the twilight woods of my Court. The floral plants and trees glowed a soft cyan tint as I lifted my head to the sky. I was at a sacred creek that was lined with thinned icy edges and old ancient stone structures. Many creeks like this one could be found in these woods of my Court: the Night Court. I didn't come here often but I found myself drawn to this place as I would be leaving shortly.
Three days had passed in my own Court. Three miserable but yet yearning days. The fact I was supposed to leave for the Dawn Court dreaded me. I didn't care if that High Monarch apologized to me or not, I still found myself dreading his presence in the waking hours of my arrival. But the other fact of the matter is that I had nothing to do to pass by these miserable hours that were eating away at me too. Sure I had to get preparations organized and in place, but I had no hours to sleep on any of it. I was done with my own preparations in no time.
Yunho had been busy with preparations these past three days so there wasn't any time for us to be alone together. Nanny had also been quite busy as well. Sometimes I couldn't even manage to find her in my own Court. What surprised me the most was when she'd agreed upon staying here at the Night Court mere hours ago. I didn't think she would've abided by what I said, but it was a High Monarch's word against her own. Nevertheless, I could go to neither to pass by these sluggish hours.
I needed more time alone, but, at the same time, I was craving for some type of action. I was despising this feeling that I had.
Then there was a rustle in the leaves. I peered over my shoulder to see Nanny with a grim face which quickly turned into a warm smile.
"It's time," she spoke.
I sighed, savoring the feel of the cool water surrounding me for a moment longer before I got up. I waved my hand in the air to dry my damp bare skin before it was cladded in a midnight black dress. It was a light dress which came to my upper knees— one I'd crafted maybe a year or so ago. The back was bare for my silver slits and the pieces of cloth over wrapped each other around my body to come up and form a choker around my neck. I adorned myself in black lace-up boots as well and a black sword with a silver trim to my side as a final touch.
My Nanny eyed me warily as if I forgot something. I furrowed my eyes at her as she shook her head.
"Your makeup, my little owl," she began as she lifted her fingers to adorn me with dark orange eyeshadow and light orange lipstick.
I rolled my eyes, "Nanny, I don't need to wear makeup all the time. We're discussing matters of Takers anyhow. It's not like I need all of this for a show."
Nanny slapped my hand lightly, "Don't roll your eyes at me! And I want you to look your best among other Courts! Matters of Takers or not, you should still look your best!"
I shrugged my shoulders with another sigh. I didn't care for how I looked appearing at the Dawn Court as I wasn't thrilled with going there— not to mention staying there while investigations are underway.
