Golden eyes forever sealed open,
To gaze out and look upon the truths hiding in our sights.
We peer inside thoughts and opinions to reveal new light into our eyes,
We hoped they'd bare fruit to what we sought: the truth.
But fruition wasn't what we found,
Instead they only remain fragments of the full painted mural.
Even as we turn over the stones,
We still can't picture what the truth really is.
But then we cling to our nearest neighbor,
And we close our eyes to find dream.
Dream we couldn't see from the darkness,
Dream that uttered the same message every time we entered it.
Running for embrace but our eyes open once again to wonder:
What had we seen?
What was our truth?
What lurked in our dream?
