"And here is the guest suite," Cress informed me as he led me into the spacious room.

The room was a pale pink or perhaps it was just the glow of the sunset that peered through the open maroon curtains. Looking out the massive window I peered down to see the gardens Cress had led me through the other day. Beside the window was a desk with clear parchment on one end and a small set of drawers on the other. That would be utmost handy as I did plan to write to Nanny. Across the room was a beautiful white sitting area with a marble fireplace. Beyond that were two doors to which I didn't know where they led. One perhaps led to a bathing room and the other a bedroom.

Cress had escorted me to my private suit after summoning some of his guards to escort my squadron to their own quarters. He, however, had given Yunho his own private room down the hall, which surprised me. I couldn't help but to become more suspicious of him. He didn't know my relationship with Yunho yet he's treating him as if he were my equal. I furrowed my brows at the thought.

I'd finished my meandering— both in my head and throughout the room— and gazed back at Cress who was now smiling at me in contentment. As if all the other things he's done wasn't confusing enough.

I huffed out a sigh as I allowed myself to traipse over to the sitting area and plop onto an armchair. Not like we were bothering with formality anyways.

"It's a lovely room," I began, not sure why I was even bothering with small talk, "I'm sure many High Monarchs have enjoyed their stay here."

Cress nodded his head and I was surprised a smile was still held on his face as he walked towards the window and gazed out of it, "This room has been occupied by many High Monarchs, Monarchs, peasants— almost any class throughout the land has stayed here."

I tilted my head in confusion, "In this room?"

Cress looked at me, that same smile still plastered on his face, "Yes."

Part of me was highly offended that he would allow for a room to intertwine with both Monarchs and peasants— High Monarchs even. That was never heard of in the other Court systems. However, another part of me was confused. Why? And why was that peaceful smile still playing on his face? His eyes even seemed to be in a calm state and it felt so natural, yet, why?

I got up from my chair then, finally asking that question, "Why?"

I was sure the smile would have wiped off his face at this point, especially since my frown never left mine. Instead, it had grown to a one with teeth. He'd furrowed his brows but was that in— amusement?

He chuckled a bit before clearing his throat, "The entire class system among Courts is... irrelevant, if you will."

My eyebrows shot up at that.

As per usual, he ignored me as he continued, "So much can be done without the barriers of classes to blockade the possibilities. My Court has thrived from even doing so. Our economy, agriculture, magical connection— even our connection to the dream world has improved."
