It was Jung Wooyoung. I didn't need any other proof to tell me otherwise. San said these halls all looked the same and, from walking through them, I knew as much. However, I knew this was the hallway I saw in that vision. The hallway Wooyoung was in. The hallway that I saw in Bomi's mind.
He was here. He caused this massacre. Was he still here? He'd been on Dawn Court palace grounds before. Where could he be now?
Bomi— the spy that is now locked away. She was a maid of the Dawn Court. Small petite figure with pale blue eyes and orange hair. Her pale skin perfected the complexion of innocence, but she wasn't. She was the spy. She would know how and why this happened, wouldn't she? She would know where Wooyoung was hiding— she had to.
I needed to go to Bomi and I needed to go to her now.
I quickly spun around to the threshold of the crimson kitchen, gasping. All eyes were set on me again. San looked like he was about to rush to my side, seeing by the protective manner that glistened in his dark blue eyes. I wanted nothing more than to cling to him and have him hold me in his arms, but I couldn't.
I needed to talk to Bomi. I opened my mouth to speak but paused as my eyes landed on Seonghwa. His dark golden gaze looked into mine as he sat waiting to hear what I had to say. But if he knew what I had to say, would he gaze at me so calmly? Fear washed over me then. Would saying that I need to see Bomi mean that I expose that I saw Wooyoung? And if I exposed knowing Wooyoung— for as long as I did— I couldn't imagine Seonghwa being anywhere near calm.
"Star?" Yeosang questioned as he turned his body towards me with a glint of concern, "Do you have something you want to say?"
I couldn't tell them— not right now with everything that happened. I need to think fast— who could take me to Bomi without me having to risk everyone knowing? Especially Seonghwa. My gaze landed on Yunho as he stiffened. I bit my lip. He would have close to the same information as the other Dawn Court guards and it was worth a shot. I didn't want to talk to him still, but I had no other options that wouldn't be too risky.
"Yunho, can I see you out in the hall?" I asked as calmly as I could manage.
The attention in the room turned to Yunho as he looked to me with his silver eyes. He looked to everyone else for a moment, shifting in his stance, and then nodded in my direction. San cocked his head to the side as he watched Yunho walk up to me. I glanced over to San with a look I hoped was only reassuring, but I knew he was confused. I could explain it to him later. I quickly turned around and walked back out into the hall with Yunho behind me. We walked past the guards and down the narrow blood splattered corridor. We turned the corner where the blood had lessened to little to none and where no guards were positioned. He didn't speak a word as I turned around to face him. So, I decided to be the first to speak.
I leaned in as I whispered, "I need you to tell me where Bomi is being held."
Yunho pulled his head away, eyebrows furrowed, "Why?"
"Don't question your High Monarch," I spoke in a quiet and threatening voice. I could feel a pit inside me that still was torn from the love I had of this man, but it was over, "Tell me where she is."
