I received another letter from Nanny.

I went to pick up the tea set that laid in my elegant white and gold sitting area to take it to a servant I spotted in the hall in the early hours of the morning. Underneath the tea set laid an envelope that was addressed to me. I didn't need to open it to know it was from Nanny. I smiled as my eyes settled on the small piece of parchment on my writing desk in the corner of the room. I didn't have a chance to read it and respond as I heard a knock from my door.

I expected Seonghwa to come soon. Today was the last day of interrogations. Today we'd finally figure out who the spy was. I took a deep breath as I turned from my writing desk. I loved Nanny but I could wait to write her back. I needed to do this because it's my duty. Soon, my duty will be fulfilled.

Instead of finding Seonghwa on the other side, however, I found San. He wore a black jacket with elegant silver trimming on the sleeves. He wore a light red shirt underneath with black dress pants and dress shoes to match. His hair was combed back as usual with that violet streak braided at the side. He gave a small dimpled grin as he looked at me with his loving dark blue eyes.

I smiled up to him, "Well, if this isn't a pleasant surprise."

San chuckled slightly before he sweetly spoke, "Good morning, Starlight."

I didn't hesitate as I stepped out of my room and embraced him in a hug, "It might've just been for the night, but I missed you."

San leaned into the hug with a heavy sigh as he ran a hand through my hair, "I missed you too."

I inched my head away only so I could gaze up into San's dark blue eyes before I began leaning into his lips. Our lips almost touched when San backed away with a cough.

"I'm here to take you to interrogations," San spoke, "We need to get going."

"You're taking me?" I asked, a bit confused, "Seonghwa usually takes me though."

San looked up and shifted in his pose slightly before he gazed back down towards me, "He has other important matters to attend to today."

What could be more important than the interrogations?

I furrowed my brows, "What kind of important matters?"

"They're... Dawn Court matters," San furrowed his brows as he sighed, "Starlight, believe me, I would tell you if I could, but that would strictly be going against Seonghwa's orders. Please understand."

I clenched my jaw. Seonghwa had ordered San to be quiet of whatever this matter was. Seonghwa didn't want people to know and I couldn't help but be suspicious. Today was the last day of interrogations, however, and I knew that was my main focus. Today we'd find a traitor among us. It was up to me to find that traitor. Whatever Seonghwa was hiding could wait till tomorrow.
