NOW WAS THE TIME TO STRIKE.
I'd gotten the signal yesterday night, and I'd taken precautions. I'd called in sick this morning, dressed in all black, and looked toward the middle of Wall Sina. All I had needed to see was the giant Titan looming in the distance...and the second I saw it, I struck.
I bolted out of my room, heading out of the barracks through a back door and I snuck toward the main building. Usually the security was airtight around the headquarters of the military buildings; this chaos had made the guards all go out to check what was going on, or fear for their safety. It was perfect.
I continued onward, tucking the black hoodie further over my face. I didn't want to take any chances of anyone seeing me. I heard voices ahead of me, and I quickly took shelter behind a wall.
"We need all hands on deck! This is nonsense, it's begun to stagger toward here, we might all be in danger!" A female soldier was yelling instructions loudly. I snickered softly to myself; Bertolt was on his way here. "Tell Erwin to head underground, send the message to all the other executives!"
Oh, not if I could help it.
I stepped out of the shadows, my icy blue eyes flashing brighter as I glared them all down. Instantly, it was if they'd frozen. My opponents weren't the ones able to resist me, but I kept my hood up to protect my face anyway. Better to be safe than sorry. A dull ache started to beat between my eyes...there were so many people, I'd never done this many...
I did my best to ignore the pain. It wasn't that bad. I had to succeed, anyway. Some little headache couldn't deter me here...
"Head outside. Lay down your weapons," I said quietly. They all nodded, their sharpened swords clattering to the ground loudly. "Where can I find Nile Dok?"
"Down the hall. He will be surrounded by four guards," The soldiers said in monotone unison. If they ever found out they'd been duped, they'd feel so guilty. However, Erwin would probably have any soldiers that weren't helping executed. It was a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of things. "He is suiting up for battle."
"Good. One last thing," I paused. These were soldiers that had no idea what was happening to them...But that wasn't my fault. "Forget about me, and this encounter once you've followed those orders."
My eyes narrowed in concentration, and they all walked off in a trance. I almost felt bad.
Almost.
After all, they were mindlessly following Erwin's orders. Orders to keep the general public ignorant of the wonderful world around them. Orders against us, when all we were trying to do was...
Well, there was no use in thinking about it. I pulled my hood tighter over my head, sneaking in the direction that the female soldier had pointed. I had my swords tucked into my belt in case trouble came and a knife concealed, but I wouldn't need those unless everything really got messed up.
But how could that happen when no one here could resist my power?
I found a double door at the end of the hallway, and I slowly pushed it slightly open. I could hear people bicker from within the room.
"That's impossible! People just aren't that big!"
"It doesn't matter! Just make sure the people don't see!"
That must be Nile. I slowly peeked so that my eyes were the only thing looking into the room. I narrowed them, and they flared brighter...the five people within the room stood still, my gaze overtaking them. My head began to pound harder, but I concentrated on one item in the room to try and lessen the pain. It was worth it, it was worth it...
"Put down your weapons and leave," I said steely. They complied, not that they really had a choice in the matter. I repeated the same words I said earlier. "Forget about me and this encounter once you've followed those orders."
They all began to file out, but I wasn't done yet.
"Officer Nile, hold it," I grabbed a sword from the ground. This was for the greater good...and Nile was as corrupt as it came, anyway. I was doing the world a favor. "...Goodbye."
I brought the sword down, stabbing it right through his chest. Instantly, my power disappeared from his mind, and he howled out in pain. He grabbed at the handle, desperately trying to pull it out to no avail. I left him dying as he stumbled to the ground, and I exited the room cautiously.
My head was pounding...I casually walked back to my room, dressing down to my pajamas before turning over in my bed. Nile was dead by now, and no one would know what had happened. The mission was successful...
And now I needed a nap.
