THERE WAS CHAOS EVERYWHERE.

I was just stuck standing there in paralyzed fear.

It was massive. It was at least sixty feet, taller than even Wall Sina! I had first thought it had red skin, but upon further inspection, I realized that there actually was none. Just gargantuan muscles and steam. I had never seen such a monstrosity...

"Armin! We've got to get out of here!" Eren shouted, and Mikasa ran forward to grab my hand. She pulled me, and I snapped out of my shock. I began to run with the two of them, away from the monster.

"What is that?" I shouted in bewilderment between panicky breaths. I had to sprint to keep up with them.

"I don't know," Mikasa responded as she pulled on both mine and Eren's hands. "But we have to get away!"

"Or we could help!" Eren argued, and we all glanced over toward our swords and gear. "I'm sure with the Omni-Directional Movement Gear we could take it down!"

"What are our tiny swords going to do against that monster?" Mikasa scoffed. "We should leave this to experienced soldiers. You'll just get slaughtered out there."

"We cant just sit by and do nothing!"

"At the very least, we should go check it out and try to escort the citizens away," I decided. Eren looked ecstatic by my decision; Mikasa looked less than enthused. "That's our duty as soldiers."

"Fine."

We suited up quickly. I was nervous...we were soldiers, yes, but we'd never had any experience. We'd never patrolled around, or been on top of the walls, yet here we were...about to head against a sixty meter tall giant? What were we getting ourselves into?

"Let's go!" Eren exclaimed impatiently, and Mikasa and I nodded. Together, we ran to the houses, where we activated our gear. We soared through the skies, toward the monster...

"There. Civilians," Mikasa pointed out, and I couldn't help but let out a breath of relief. We didn't have to take a suicide mission trying to take down that creature...I think I would have fainted if I had to fight that thing.

We all swooped downward, and I took charge.

"Stay away from that thing! It's headed toward the wall!" I yelled. "Run towards the military base! There are people there who can shelter you all!"

The people followed in the direction I had pointed in. Eren frowned.

"Will they really be safe there?"

"They can't go anywhere else," I reminded him. "At the very least, these people will be safe...it's going toward the wall, not toward the base. They should be okay!"

"...Okay."

"It's headed toward the gate," Mikasa observed stoically, despite the crazy and horrific situation around all of us. However, that didn't last for long as she began to realize what the Titan could be trying to do. "That could mean..."

"It could be destroying the gate between Wall Sina and Rose!" I shouted in panic. That was something that separated us from Wall Rose's people. I didn't want to say it, but Wall Rose was notorious for being lower class than Sina, although it wasn't as terrible as Wall Shiganshina.

"We've got to stop it!" Eren yelled, and he immediately grappled away toward the Titan. Mikasa followed him without question, and upon seeing my friends head right toward the monster, I gathered my courage, took a deep breath...and followed toward that terrible creature.

My heart was pounding faster than ever, my blue eyes widened in fear. What was I thinking? We can't stand against this! Mikasa may be a master soldier, but this was some...some monster! I wanted to turn back. I closed my eyes, about to stop my momentum...

But I couldn't. If my friends were going to risk their lives, I'd have to as well. As we got closer, I could see that there were soldiers already attacking the monster. I could see that their swords were bouncing off of the creature's body, not even managing to properly dig into it's body.

What...was this thing!?

As we all propelled ourselves straight toward the Titan, our swords drawn and our teeth grit in fear, we were suddenly engulfed in a white and vaporous cloud of steam.

It was hot. I threw my arms in front of my face as a way of trying to protect myself from the extreme heat. There was no use; I had to grapple away.

"Mikasa, Eren!" I shouted out desperately, but I didn't get a response. I swung onto a roof as the fog faded to reveal...nothing?

The monster was...gone.
