     "Ow!"
Alexandra bumped into a tall and fit man and accidentally spilled coffee on his glistening black Armani shoes.

"Oh my God! Am so sorry" She bent to wipe his shoes with her pristine white handkerchief. "I am really sorry" Lexie repeated. She looked up to face her boss, Mark Swanson, the CEO of the Swanson empire. He was one of those men who could send a woman to hell with a well placed smile. She sighed inwardly. It was not for her, that much she knew.

Mark sighed. If there was one thing he hated, It was for his employee to come in late and then bump into him. Gosh! He detested the latter the most. He looked at the woman on her knees before him and felt a little pang of pity for her. He bent  as well and snatched the handkerchief from her.

"Stop ruining my shoes, miss. ...." He trailed off, looking at her quizzically.

Lexie bobbed her head. "I am so sorry, Mr Swanson". With that, she rushed out from his sight.

Mark just stood there dumbfounded at her obvious evasion. No woman ever walked out on him. Never! He smirked a little. Well! He will think whether Miss evasive will retain her job or not.

  ***************************
Alexandra took deep steadying breaths as she stood before the mirror in the girl's room.

What had she done? Coming late to work and then bumping into the CEO was terrible. She splashed her face with cold water and winced. She won't think about it. Lexie inspected her blouse critically, hoping no-one would notice her purple skin. She reapplied lip gloss and took another critical look in the mirror. She took another calming breath and walked to her office. Time to work!

She was interrupted by a loud bang and the strong scent of a perfume. Lexie looked at the woman standing right in front of her desk. The woman was dressed in cream and   her nails were painted a bright red colour. She definitely exuded sophistication.

"Yes? How can I help you?" Lexie asked politely.

The woman shifted "I am here to see Mark"

Lexie lifted a brow. "Mr Swanson?"

"Of course. Is there another you know of?"

"Oh! Sorry. Let me get through"

The woman grunted irritatingly and examined her acrylic nails.

The call went through. "Yes... um... a woman is here to see Mr Swanson. Her name is..." Lexie frowned and looked at the woman. "Please, your name?"

"You don't know who I am? I am Callie Jane".

Lexie resumed her call. "She says she is Callie Jane. Oh... okay... Thank you". Lexie got up from her seat and gestured for the woman to follow her. "Please, follow me"

Lexie punched in a number in the elevator. The doors opened and they both walked out. Callow followed Lexie down the expensive corridor and into Mark Swanson's office.

Sighting him, Callow squealed and ran into Mark's arms. She kissed him fully on the mouth and a make-out session began right there at the center of the room. Mark peered over Callie's shoulder at Lexie standing there like a lost puppy.

"Um... sorry sir. You haven't... uh... dismissed me." Two bright spots of red stained her cheeks.

Mark was amused as he stared at her nervous self. "Fine. You are DISMISSED" His time was enough to send a whole house of rats scurrying.

Lexie opened the door and went smack into a man's broad chest.
