Chapter 18 "The Dream That Changed It All"

I woke up and it was Thursday. The dance was tomorrow and I wasn't happy because Claire and I dreamed of both having dates and getting ready together. Like that would happen. She hates me and Drake.

This time I put on my NSN shirt on with a flannel shirt over but unbuttoned. I slipped on my jeans and black converse. I brushed my hair and put my eyeliner on, but not as heavy.

I walked downstairs and it was no surprise, Drake was waiting. He came over and hugged me.

Drake: Your mom left 5 minutes ago, she let me in before she left.

Me: She trusts you, that's good.

Drake: You don't ok? Whats wrong?

Me: Claire... she won't write back and now... I don't know what to do? She's my best friend and I don't want to loose her!

Drake: It'll be ok. I bet you guys will make up soon. Two best friends can't stay mad for long. It's called true friendship.

He made me smile and I felt better. He was right, Claire and I have history and she wouldn't throw it all away for some fight... right?

We walk to school pretty fast and there wasn't much talking going on. At least he managed to make me laugh a couple times.

We arrived at school. We walked threw the halls holding hands. He gave me a promising look, which meant that everything wood be ok, I promise. I got to my locker and opened it like normal. I got my books and note fell out. I picked it up... it was from Claire.

Dear Ellie,

Since our friendship means nothing to you then you can have this back.

I picked up a charm that I gave her that said BFFE on it. Best Friends For Ever. I couldn't fight back the tears. She hated me and this was worse then some little girl fight. Drake came over and comforted me because he could tell when I cried even when I wasn't facing him.

School was the worst. Claire didn't even look at me and she hung out with other people. At least the day is over.

I walked out and found Drake. I walked by his side as he gave me a comforting smile. We walked to my house again because my mom was out till 9 again.

We reached my house. I opened the door and saw a silver box on the counter. I walked over and read the card attached...

Hey Ellie its mom. I figured you didn't go shopping for a dress yet. I worked for the money to get you this because I love you and I want you to have a good time!

P.S. Drake told me about the dance.

Me: You told her about the dance?

Drake: Yea it was so quiet, I thought she'd like no know  and I need to break the silence I guess.

I lightly punched him on the shoulder because my mom freaks about my school dances even if I wasn't going. I opened the box to find a black dress covered in tiny picture of flowers, peace signs, hearts, etc..  Under were a pair of paint splattered boots. I loved it.

I took the box up to my room and sat on the bed, Drake sat next me.

Me: Do you ever feel alone even when your near a friend or family?

Drake: Yea, that started happening when my parents died... my brother was by me trying to cheer me up but I never noticed him... I felt alone.

Me: I fell that right now...

Drake: You've been threw so much today. Why don't you relax?

We sat on my bed again and watched TV. I had my head on his chest. The last thing I heard was Drake saying " I love you Ellie, I will always be there for you even if you don't want me there".

I sat there alone in the dark forest in my new dress. Jason was above me. I got up and looked angry.

Jason: Why would you do this to me, Ellie! I loved you!

Me: W- what?

Jason: I gave you everything and you left me for some idiot! You're cheating on me!

Me: Jason... I- I'm not!

Jason: Save it Ellie! You killed me and you cheat on me!?

Me: I didn't... I'm sorry...

Jason: There is no sorry! You- you don't care about me anymore! You just want Drake? I thought you loved me not that idiot?

I was crying hard now and I couldn't stop... I could feel the tears even if it was a dream.

Me: I- I'm sorry and I promise I'll make it up to you!

Jason: How!

Me: I'll leave Drake! I'll come with you! I'll kill myself! I'll do anything Jason!

He looked pleased and walked away till I saw nothing but trees and darkness... I woke up.

"Ellie"! Drakes voice was shouting in front of me. Drake gave me a hug in relieve.

Drake: I thought you were dead because you were crying and the stopped all of a sudden Also, I don't know how to check a pulse.

I wanted to laugh but I had to do it.

Me: Drake... I can't do this....

Drake: What do you mean?

Me: I mean I can't be your girlfriend... I'm already Jason's...

Drake: Jason's dead.

Me: I still promised forever and ever!

Drake: Jason would of wanted you to move on.

I was mad now.

Me: DON'T YOU DARE SAY WHAT JASON WANTED YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT HE WANTED!

I screamed at him.

Drake: Jason-

I cut him off.

Me: JUST LEAVE! I NEVER LOVED YOU DRAKE! I JUST NEEDED SOMEONE AND ALL I NEED IS JASON! I COULD NEVER LOVE YOU!

A tear came down his face and he wiped it away. He walked out of the room and and went down the stairs. The front door slammed.

I fell down to the floor crying my eyes out. I did love him.... but Jason is all I needed. Tomorrow I had to be with him no matter what it took...
