I've always been that kind of person who finds comfort in silence. Be it the quietness of the night or a sunny midday, I love the slow-burn feeling it gives me. It allows me to sort things out and think and breathe. It helps me calm the yelling voices in my head and settle the chaos of a long day. I think I could last a day in a room devoid of anything as long as I have my beloved books and assured tranquility. Though I'm amazed by the loud music the world could create but it is in quiet spaces where I truly belong.
I have a strong penchant for moments of stillness but it doesn't mean that my life has been one. Still and quiet, I mean. The environment I grew up in is a place of searing tension and deafening screams. And so, to escape, I tried to find a way to quiet the tailspin of noise.
And I found writing.
I hope as you go through the pages of this poetry book, you'd also find your own version of peace through the noise.
