TWENTY
If she were to describe him, Abigail would mostly likely akin Five to a cat.
There are times where affection was the first on his list and moments where winter seemed to have arrived early.
There was nothing in between.
But Abigail didn't complain.
She saw it as a fun game, to see if she was capable of guessing what goes on in her partner's mind. But most of the time, she'll have absolutely no clue on what may happen when she's around the boy.
Five knew about this so-called 'game', and will openly participate in it to see what kind of reaction he'll get. He would purposely act in a certain way then switch to another after a few minutes, throwing the girl off-guard.
But all of these were in private, away from the eyes of anyone but them. They made use of the temporary peace before hell rains down at them once more.
Their coffee dates and strolls around the city for the past days happened at the dead of the night, while mornings were filled with their enthusiasm to end this whole fiasco and occasional side glances.
This made Five's siblings go crazy. Well, mostly Klaus.
"For the love of God, are you two dating or what?!"
Five tore his gaze from the thick layers of papers he was reading.
The boy was enjoying his precious time in his room when his flamboyant brother barged in unannounced. He was leaning on the bedframe, his leg over the other, and right arm behind his head. On his free hand was the research of Abigail's father, Leon Krone, which he 'borrowed' from Pogo.
Five raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean," Klaus stomped closer while pointing a finger at him. "Everyone knows that you two are a thing!"
"And so I've heard," Five went back to reading the manuscript.
"What kind of reaction was that?!" Klaus wailed. "And after all I did as your wingman. Why are you doing this to me, dear brother?"
"Where are the smooches? Affection? The sexual tension!" He flailed his arms in the air. "Nowhere!"
Five slammed the manuscript down. Sitting up straight, he glared at Klaus.
"We don't have time for this, Klaus. There are more pressing matters we have to take care of," Five declared, voice stern.
"Yada yada, this is just like the apocalypse all over again. Aren't you worried Abby would slip out of your grasp?"
"She won't."
"How sure are you, dear brother?"
Five didn't reply, but the smug grin on his lips was enough for Klaus to understand.
"Besides, among the two of us," the boy went back to reading. "Abigail's more into this than I am."
Obviously.
In the living room, the girl came running to the oldest two siblings. In her hands were a series of documents that were tossed to the coffee table to show a clearer view of what was written.
Diego pushed himself off the sofa while Luther walked closer to the table, both of them reading through the files.
"From health hazards to corruption, that's all the dirt on my cousin's company enough to bring him down," Abigail spoke as she knelt close to the coffee table.
