This book is dedicated to my mother, who enjoys her ancient China love stories. I hope that when you read this, you'll like it too.

I woke up to the faint sound of the Bell, I glanced towards my window, the sun spilling into the giant room.
My silk white curtains stood no chance against the morning sun.
I got out of bed and walked towards my window, I pushed aside the curtains and sat down on the window seat. I did this almost every morning, just staring into the royal garden, then staring even farther, into the forest. The other side of the castle was overlooking the castle's grand entrance and the city just outside of the castle.
After a few seconds of staring into the forest, I got up from the window seat and rearranged the fluffy blue and white pillows and pale blue blanket.
"Mimi?" I asked for my maid as I ringed my mini replica of the Bell, calling for Mimi.
Mimi (like always) came rushing in.
"Yes, Your Royal Highness?" Mimi asked.
"Could you please bring out the morning dress I chose last night?"
"Of course." Mimi scuttered away, finding the dress.
I stared at my hands and fiddled with the bracelet Grandmother gave me.
After a few minutes, Mimi came out of the giant walk-in closet and handed the plain white knee-length dress with long white lace sleeves to me.
Mimi exited the room so I could start changing.
Usually, a maid helps the queen, princess, duchess, etc. dress, but I preferred some privacy. I also don't want to overwork Mimi, she already works very hard.
I got dressed, then I put on the plain white heels.
Mother usually preferred the finer things in life, so I had Mimi come back in and put my hair into a low ponytail, with my favourite platinum and diamond pin.
Now I was ready for the new day.
