"Ace?!" I tried to exclaim through Hugh's yelp of surprise.
When the heck did Ace get here? Sure, he was Mason's brother, but how did he come over so quickly?
"Help!! This guy was gonna stab me in the forehead!" I yelled for help. "Already knew that-" Ace replied.
I grabbed a dagger that I saw on the ground earlier when I was observing the place that I thought I would die in. I could see that Mason was charging at Hugh head-on, while Ace was behind him, struggling to attack him without a weapon. But he did find a tangled rope that he was probably going to use to tie up Hugh's hands once Mason cornered him.
I ran over to Ace to help him untangle the rope, but then Hugh turned around and sliced at me. I dodged as quickly as possible, but he ended up cutting a few strands of hair. Ace charged back at him with my dagger, which I had left on the ground when I was trying to untangle the rope, leaving me to untangle the rope by myself.
It took a few minutes, but I successfully untangled the rope. I tried to use it as a lasso, hoping that I could do some damage. But then I thought about it again. If I were to use the rope like a lasso, it could be cut in the process. Then we wouldn't be able to tie Hugh up, and the few precious minutes that I'd spent untangling it would be wasted.
I set down the rope and reached for a broom that seemed sturdy. Hugh had turned his back at me, trying to handle Mason and Ace. I charged at him swiftly but silently. I turned the broom to the brush side, hoping to scare Hugh with the cockroaches living in it. He seemed like the kind of person that has a phobia of bugs.
I poked the brush at his hair because wherever the cockroaches went (his face, neck spine, etc.), it would probably always freak him out.
But the outcome was even better, there seemed to be LOTS of cockroaches, and they all went in different directions!
Hugh stopped fighting, pausing for a second. "What's this tickling feeling everywhere...?" he asked. "That may or may not be cockroaches crawling onto your spine, face, and neck-" I answered.
"COCKROACHES?!" he exclaimed. He immediately started slapping himself, trying to kill the poor cockroaches. I looked at Ace and Mason, Mason returned the look, so I threw him the rope; not wanting to deal with a flailing Hugh.
I ran over to Ace, glad that I'd finally gotten the chance to greet him. "How'd you-" I started to ask, but I was interrupted by a screaming Hugh and a yelling Mason. We stared at them for a little while in awkward silence.
"Anyways, how'd you get here?" I finally asked. "I happened to be in the search party group patroling Wiminag; when I heard Mason yelling for help. I think he heard you or something. I went to investigate, and he told me that you were probably in trouble. So he led me to the room he thought you and Hugh would be in, we entered, you know the rest." he explained.
"Huh."
"'Huh' is all you have to say? You were almost murdered by a fucking psycho..." Ace said in a deadly but quiet voice, he almost never swears though, only when he's extremely angry or worried.
"Sorry... Does 'It was a good coincidence that you were in town' work?" I suggested. He sighs, "Sure."
Another awkward silence starts. Then Mason yelps in victory, after successfully tying up Hugh's hands. "Oh! Good job, Mason." I congratulated him, "By the way, what happened to Mrs. Pudgy-Ass?" I asked. "I knocked her and Celia out, but Celia seemed a bit off..." Ace immediately replies. It seemed like he was emphasizing the word "I".
"Yep, Ace did it by himself because I was trying to figure out which room Hugh had led you to." Mason confirmed what Ace had said, still emphasizing that Ace had done it by himself.
"Oh yeah, I remember when I was escaping from-" I was about to tell them about how Celia was acting like a robot. "Wait, escaping? From where?" Ace asked, confused.
I explained the whole situation to them, including what I was going to tell them before Ace interrupted.
"So Celia was acting like a robot...?" Mason tried to confirm. "Yeah, but at Prince Conner's birthday ball, she seemed pretty normal to me," Ace started, but I cut him off "Wait... Worse-case-scenario is that there's both a robot Celia and a human Celia, and Mrs. Pudgy-Ass and the Celia that was knocked out could come at any second... And if Ace only knocked out one of them, the other might still be on the loose-"
But I was cut off by Ace when he exclaimed.
"WHERE'S HUGH?!"
Ahhhh, finally done :3
Anyways, I hoped y'all enjoyed it, I'll probably be making long-ish chapters from now on, but it might take a while longer than it used to.
Byeee!
