Hugh led me and Mason into his house, the other side, where I hadn't seen when I was kidnapped, but I'd recognized the design of the exterior, so I knew it was the same house.
"This is my humble home," he started. "I've made this place home to me, my darling wife and my daughters." daughters... He has more than one daughter? "Please, please. Sit!" he gestured for us to sit. Mason sat without hesitation, whilst I, on the other hand, had a split moment of uncertainty. I don't think it was enough for Hugh to notice though, he was quite distracted with pouring the tea that smelled and looked like trash; I doubt it tasted like it though, I've found that you can't trust some tea flavour's appearance.
As I sat down, Hugh clapped his hands twice. A butler and the pudgy woman that was in the painting with Celia and Hugh came towards us. The pudgy woman was most likely Mrs. Rodrieguez, she wore a fancy white feather boa, but I could see brown coffee stains on it. She also wore an ugly red dress that hugged her body, but I could see that the dress was waaaaaaaaay too slim for Mrs. Rodriguez. And some oversized Montgomery heels, (If I recall, Mother's wedding dress was by Montgomery) they were black and hot pink.
What a fashion disaster. But who am I to say she has no fashion sense? I barely had one at all before Mother called in Montgomery's great grand-daughter to teach me some common-sense from the fashion world.
Never mind that, it's irrelevant.
"Oh, dearieeee~ who is this young lady?" she practically screeched. I could tell by the way Hugh looked, he agreed. "Ah, this, is her Highness, Princess Valerie! Mason here, brought her because she's trying to find her way home," he explained.
Again, it's quite easy to read their faces. Mrs. Rodriguez looked worried; because she obviously knew that I knew the Rodriguez family's little secret.
"Princess Valerie, this is my beautiful wife, Mollianna." 'beautiful'? I get that beauty comes in different kinds of ways, but I'm pretty sure that Hugh was referring to Mollianna's looks. And I know for a fact, that she is NOT beautiful... I probably sound like a Nellie right now, don't I...?
"So, Mr. Rodriguez, what was the plan you came up with?" I asked, not wanting to waste any more time. "I simply plan to drop you off in front of the castle-" he explained.
"I'm sorry for interrupting Mr. Rodriguez, but the castle guards won't even let you breathe the castle's air. It's a flawed plan." I interrupted him. He didn't seem to like that; good.
"Hmm, I see, may we talk in private, Princess Valerie?" he asked. But I knew what he was up to. I couldn't let him do that. But I also can't turn down the offer without looking suspicious. "Of course Mr. Rodriguez!" I finally replied.
"Great, follow me." he gestured for me to follow; and I did... Cautiously though. He led me to a dark room that might've been the sketchiest room I'd ever seen in my life. It was almost completely black, the walls, the drapes, everything. There was no furniture either.
It was sketchy as hell, and I had a bad feeling that this room was where I would arrive to the Afterlife in the room.
"So, I see you know my little secret," finally, I didn't have to pretend I was clueless about him anymore. "Indeed I do, you asshole."
"THAT'S THE LAST STRAW, YOU BETTER BE PREPARED FOR PAIN!!" he yelled. I pretended not to care. There wasn't much I could do anyways. I guess I'd failed Canamaria in making it a better place. It's time to go.
As Hugh was about to stab me in the head, I heard footsteps. And someone pulling out a gun... The person kicked down the door.
Ace?! Mason?!
Hehe, sorry for the wait. I was trying to make this chapter longer because I've been told that my chapters are waaaaaaaaaay to short xD
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it.
