Life is like riding a bicycle. In order to keep your balance, you must keep going.

I grabbed the branch and hauled myself up. "Whatever it takes" was blasting in my ears and I was climbing the tree that was outside my window in the backyard.

I decided this was high enough and sat against the trunk, placing my legs on either side of the branch. I rested my head backward and let myself sink into the music. The cold air calmed my airways and soothed my sore throat.

I felt safer in a tree that not many people climbed. It made me relieved to be in a place others haven't been to.

After I was introduced to everyone yesterday, I had taken a long shower and fallen asleep, too tired to give a damn about dinner, which explained the hunger that tore my stomach this morning.

Scooting towards the middle of the trunk, I brought a leg over the side and carefully lowered down so I was hanging upside down.

Then I took my left leg and lifted it off the branch and let it dangle loosely for a second before curving my back and reaching for it over my head. Basically, I was floating with my right leg and making a complete circle with back, arms, and left leg.

I stayed like that for god knows how long, doing stunts and stuff like that. When it was around seven, I climbed back down the twenty feet and headed back inside.

The house was quite loud, even though the dinner table only had four people. I came in washed my hands, and everything quietened.

I served myself and sat in a seat far away from Mr. bad boy.

"How's everything going, darling," Mrs. Anderson said, "I hope you like your room."

I smiled formally, "Everything is just perfect, Mrs. Anderson."

"Oh, please," she exclaimed, "call me Mia!"

I nodded and glanced at Skylar.

"Let her eat, mom," she interrupted whatever Mia was going to say, "she must be famished."

Everyone started digging in and I gave her a small smile. She grinned and nodded before we both started eating.

"So," Finn said after everything was finished, "you seem to be very good at gymnastics."

I almost inhaled my water but set the glass down, coughing a little bit before I took a deep breath.

"I don't do gymnastics. I did cheer and dance at my other school."

"Wow, are you thinking about trying out for this school," Skylar asked.

"No," I deadpanned.

"Oh, well let me know if you want to. I'd love to take you on the team."

I gave her a tight smile before excusing myself and putting my bowl in the sink. I walked past them as they were wrapping up and met the scrutinizing gaze of Mr. Bad boy.

Ignoring the shivers, I walked up and opened the door before getting in and locking it. I took out two charcoal pencils and started drawing a keyhole that had shadows mist surrounding it and a waterfall inside it.

I was so engrossed in making it as perfect as it could be, I almost missed the knock on my door.

Instead of bothering to reply, I ran to the door and opened it carelessly.
