During the day, I don't believe in ghosts. At night, I become a bit more open-minded.❜

It was the first day of school. Yesterday, I was able to bring my walls down a millimeter so they would be satisfied with my behavior. It was difficult but doable.

Hunter had told me that they would need for me to go in another car because they were taking their friends, and Skylar apologized so much, but what she didn't know was that I had a motorcycle, and Devin was gonna come with me.

I did my hair in a high ponytail before putting on my leather jacket and my black watch. Walking out into the garage, I started my baby and slowly rode out to the front where. Devin was waiting on her bike, scrolling through her phone.

"Let's roll," I said over the communicator and her head snapped to look at me before putting her phone away.

My outfit matched with my black Kawasaki Ninja H2R, and Devin's outfit was all white, which matched with her white Kawasaki Z400. She led me down a couple of streets before we came in front of our school.

The engines caught everyone's attention, including Hunter and his gang's. I could tell she was nervous and I talked to her calmly over the communicator.

"Don't worry Devin," I spoke, "this is my first day of school, not yours. You're just coming back from winter break. They've seen you before, maybe not like this, but you'll do great."

"Thanks," she replied, "You'll do just as good. Just stay away from the cheerleaders."

"Why?"

"All of them except Skylar are top grade school sluts. They've practically hit all the boys in the school. Seriously, stay away from them."

I giggled, "Noted."

As the stares continued, we parked and got off the bike. We both had boots with a small heel on them, so they made soft clicking sounds that was pure music to my ears.

I slowly took my helmet off and shook my hair out dramatically. I saw Devin do the same from the corner of my eye. We both walked down the red carpet of stares and I looked around for a sign that said office.

"We're twenty minutes early, so I can help you find your classes," Devin supplied and I thanked her gratefully.

The moment we stepped into the hallway, it turned quiet. I felt like we were some sort of celebrity that had just stepped into a school of...people.

We walked down the hall briskly and the moment I turned the corner, I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding before bursting into nervous laughs.

Devin joined me and held the wall for support.

"Did you see their faces," she said in between laughs, "priceless. They were so shocked when they looked at you. Hunter had his eyes falling out of his sockets."

I chuckled and straightened myself out, "The office Devin?"

"Right, right. This way."

We opened a heavy metal door and shivered from the cold air. I went up to the secretary and immediately winced. Have you ever seen a person wearing practically no clothing, too much makeup, and a stuck up attitude? That person must have been this school's secretary because frankly, she looked like she could shower in what she was wearing and not get her clothes wet.

I took a deep breath, preparing myself for a screechy voice.

"Hello," I said in the kindest way possible, "Can I please have my schedule."

I got no response and she popped in a bubblegum stick.

Oh, this girl gon get it.

"Listen here bitch," I snarled, "I don't have all day for you to finish your stupid tantrum. I'm here for my schedule so I'd rather have you print it out and give it to me that me having to stare at your hideous face for the rest of the day."

Her eyes shot up as she quickly printed something out and I heard Devin chuckle. I snatched the paper and walked outside with Devin in tow, mumbling about the woman having absolutely no manners. I showed her my schedule and her eyes shot up in surprise.

"You and I have the same exact schedule. They never do that. No one shares the whole schedule with another classmate."

I smirked, "Honey, I'm clearly exceptional."

Devin threw her head back and smiled, "You have no idea how true you are."

My eyes traveled down the page and I saw a small note written in pen saying Have fun bitch.

I just snorted as we both walked to our first class, which was gladly science. I wasn't a nerd, but I wasn't a complete jerk either. I liked science, worked my ass off to get good grades, but when it came to relaxing, I flipped my whole personality.

We still had ten minutes until the bell rang so Devin and I leaned against our lockers, which were ironically side by side, and talked, subtly talking about the people around us too. It was all pleasant until Hunter and his gang walked up to us.

Darren decided to grace us with his not so needed presence and I rolled my eyes.

"Look who we have here," he said cockily, "badass wanna-be's."

Before Devin could retort, I interjected.

"I'm fairly certain I told you the other day you weren't fit enough. If I quote myself, I said; maybe if you ran as fast as that mouth, you'd be more fit. Did you do something about that?"

He looked at me before taking a threatening step closer. I felt Davin stiffen next to me.

"How about we do a mile run after school princess," he challenged, "then we'll see whose faster."

I smirked, "Why not now? We still have a good 15 minutes including the warning bell. Unless you're too much of a pussy to do it."

His eyes darkened in anger as he gritted out, "you're on."
