"Sorry, but," Minerva stated, "did you just ask me to jump off the roof?"

Darren and I looked at Archer with wide eyes while he just smirked, "Yes I did, darling."

"Well," she slowly answered, cracking her knuckles, "If you boys don't break your neck and fall, then sure."

"Break our necks and fall," Darren spluttered, "You could die if you don't know how to land!"

She raised a challenging eyebrow, "Darren, you'd be surprised by what I could do. I did whip your ass in the race."

"Two seconds," he wined, "Two fucking seconds otherwise I would have won."

Minerva smugly replied, "But you didn't. See you at the bottom."

"Nope, Minerva, take the stairs, we'll meet you in the parking lot," I ordered, fairly certain she would listen.

She looked at me and smirked, "You'll have to catch me, then."

Turning around, she pushed off, running towards the edge of the roof.

I yelled at her to stop, but she paid no attention. She neared the edge before jumping, glancing down at the ground before smiling. I ran up to the edge of the roof, only to see her roll into a ball professionally.

Holy shit, she did not just jump off a two-story school and not die.

Minerva gave us a conceited smile before turning around and heading towards the car.

I looked at Archer questioningly, but his eyes were stormy and cold and filled with suspicion. Shrugging it off, I jumped and copied what Minerva did before signaling the other two to do the same. We caught up to her and I noticed she had a distant look on her face while her hands fiddled with a ring on her index finger.

"How did you not die?"

Minerva looked at me before answering, "I told you, you'd be surprised by what I could do."

We walked to the car and Minerva sat in the passenger seat next to me, "Will I ever be allowed to drive this beauty?"

"Nope," I bluntly replied before starting the engine and turning the car.

The whole way home, Darren, Archer, and Minerva screamed at the top of their lungs to the radio and I kept myself from staring at her for too long. She looked so carefree and happy, ignorant to the dangers of the world, it made me jealous. She got to sit at home, doing whatever she does while we needed to monitor a stupid Viper plan thing in the Western docks today the moment we got home.

I tagged her bike so if she went anywhere we would know because the Vipers are known for backstabbing. If they sent Minerva as their spy, I wouldn't put it past them to try to kill her the moment she got there.

If she was going to the Western Docks, that is.

I made a final turn for our house and Minerva slipped outside, walking away. After three steps, she realized we weren't after her and came back.

"You guys coming?"

"We need to help dad with some work," I lied, "But we'll be back before school ends."
