We must learn who is gold and who is simply plated gold.

"Can't we go in," Aria asked the guards for the third time, "It's so cold!"

The guards stood as stoic as ever, while Aria pulled me to the side before glaring at me, "Why the hell are we here again?"

I rolled my eyes, "We're here so we can get the Vipers to do our dirty work."

"How?"

"You'll see," I said while smirking, "They won't know what hit 'em."

She sighed before rubbing her arms and bringing the layers of her jacket closer to her, "I don't know Minerva.  We don't work like this."

I raised an eyebrow, "Like what?"

"We never involve ourselves in gangs or mafias. We're that third party which is the information holder."

"With-holder," I corrected, "And I'm not involving us in anything. I'm just tipping them off to where the file could be."

As realization crossed her face, I heard the guards come up behind us.

"The Viper King would like to see you."

I turned around and flashed them a 1000 mega-watt smile before dragging Aria with me.

"Listen," I hissed in her ear, "We have five minutes before we need to leave. Don't blow this up."

She gave me a tight smile before falling into step beside me. We came upon a door that read Mr. Viper King, and I cautiously opened it after knocking twice.

"Mr. King," I said, "Can we come in."

A deep voice answered a yes before I took a step towards my possible doom. When I took a seat, I realized my hands were shaking with anticipation.

"So," the man around the age of my deceased father acknowledged, "What brings you here today?"

I leaned slightly forward while clasping my arms, "You see, sir, we may know where File Red could be."

His eyebrows shot up.

"Really," he questioned, "And where do you think -"

"On the Western Scorpion Dock. I assume by now the file is at their base under analysis."

The man nodded thoughtfully, "What do expect me to do, exactly?"

Before I could say anything, Aria cut in, "Nothing, sir. We just wanted to warn you. We know that they are your rivals and from what we've heard, that kind of information could lead to war. It priceless sir."

"Alright," he stated, "We will get the file back on the first crack of dawn two days from now. You two can leave."

Aria and I both gave him a smile before turning around and heading out the door. Once the guards were out of sight, we ran to behind the store and looked for the butler's car.

"Follow me," Aria ordered, running towards a small black Mercedes. I followed her, making sure to not fall down in my heels.

"Should I be knowing what any of that was about," the butler questioned.

"No, Mr. Chadwin," I answered, "You do not need to know what anything was about. Though, you could take us home now as soon as possible."

He smiled at us before suddenly taking off, throwing Aria and me backward against the seats.

"Mr. Chadwin," Aria screeched, "She never meant this fast!"

"If you want to get home on time before Mr. Hunteer comes, you will need to go this fast."

The whole car ride felt like a rollercoaster. Every time Mr. Chadwin would turn, I would have to brace myself with either hand, making sure my head didn't crash against the windows.

"Out, out, out, Ms. Abbott," he shooed after we parked, "Hunter would be coming anytime soon.

I caught the keys he threw at me and I lifted the hem of my dress, running up the stairs and opening the door.

I left the key at the counter while Aria had already gotten halfway up the stairs. Following her, I skipped two stairs at the time and opened my room where Aria was changing out.

Uncaring, I brought out my nightwear, and an extra one for Aria, and started to change. Once I was out of the dress, I went to the bathroom and took off all of my makeup. Aria came in beside me and did the same.

"How are we going to get the girls out of the Scorpion docks," she asked once we were in bed, "It's not like we can make an excuse to leave for the whole day.

After a minute, I replied, "Team Alpha will go in, and we will monitor their progress by computer."

"That could work but -"

A frequent pounding on the door interrupted her. I motioned her to follow silently and went to get the door, not before grabbing a frying pan. Aria looked at me uncertainly and I felt antsy. She opened the door and I swung the pan like a baseball bat.

I think I hit Hunter's nose because immediately, he let out a string of curses will holding his bleeding nose, making whatever he said to sound more like a hum.

"What the bloody hell are you doing with a bloody pan," Devin asked.

I rubbed the back of my neck in embarrassment, "I thought you guys were someone else."

Devin just smiled and rolled her eyes, coming in. I put the pan in the sink and rinsing it off. When I was back in the kitchen, everyone was in their own rooms except Bethany and Hunter, who were dealing with his nose.

I kept in a smile and walked up the stair, proud of the hit I was able to do. It's not every day you get to hit a Black Thorn leader, right?

I sat on my bed and kept the covers off me, feeling an odd chill because of the heat.

"Good night Minerva," Aria said to me before turning away.

Smiling at her, I whispered, "Good night Aria. See you in the morning when we're getting ready for school."
