I woke up and sat up in the bed, wondering how I was under a blanket in the first place. I tried to remember what happened yesterday, until I remembered I had had sex with Tank, and he'd cuddled me to sleep. I wasn't too opposed to it, but because he'd had his blinds shut, I didn't know what time it was. I hadn't even realized that he wasn't laying down beside me, so I got up and tried looking for him in every room, but I didn't find him. I didn't find Scales or Chief either, so I settled on making something to eat. I looked at the clock and realized it was past noon. Had I really slept til lunch? Jesus.. I settled on making a plain ham sandwich, because like Tank had said, there wasn't any food left, so I didn't want to waste the last of their food. I heard the front door opening, and I choked on my sandwich after I saw who entered the house.
"Um, who are you?" He'd asked, and I replied, saying, "Chief, it's me, Y/N." "I'm not Chief, I'm his brother, Riot. Why are you here?" Riot asked, shaking his locs. "Um.. I met Tank and the others yesterday at a protest after I got tear gassed. Oh, by the way, there's almost no more food." He eyed me for a second before patting my head, grabbing some keys. "The others are protesting down town, but we can go buy some groceries. The Walmart nearby's open, so we have to go before it's burnt down by those undercover piggies," he replied, ushering me to hurry up so we could leave. I swallowed the remaining of my sandwich and put my shoes on before getting into his car, noticing how it smelled like fresh strawberries. He turned the car on, and started driving to the Walmart, vibing to his music playlist. I noticed he played a lot of lo-fi songs, which I questioned, but didn't mind. It was peaceful to me, and I needed it, considering how violent the protests were turning because of those farm animals.
We got out to go inside, and Riot grabbed a cart, turning to me to ask what we didn't have at home. "Let's see.. there wasn't any milk when I checked, and we definitely didn't have any vegetables or fruit." He nodded and grabbed ahold of my hand, rubbing it for comfort. I didn't mind it, and we continued to put food and drinks into the cart, occasionally me throwing in a box of pop-tarts or bagels that Riot would take out when I wasn't looking. Once we finishing shopping and got back home, we noticed that the rest were back from protesting. "Hey, how come you guys are back so early?" Riot asked, and Chief shook his head, as if warning him to not say anything anymore. Scales wasn't her spunky self, but was instead staring intensely at the floor, her arms crossed. Tank himself was shaking angrily, but once he saw me, he stopped, though his shoulders were tense. "You, come with me," he grumbled, standing up and heading into his room. I gulped and followed him, unsure of what would happen next.
