The Lord of Outland was enormous and encased in a foul green, yet translucent prison. He was dormant, yet somehow commanded the attention of all around him, including myself.
Countless individuals were in an immense room -it looked more like a cavern. Everyone was busying themselves, making preparations. I sensed we were on a mission.
Yes! We were going to perform a ritual to release Illidan from his confinement. His soul floated in the afterlife, the Twisting Nether, and we had to reunite his soul with his body in order to bring him back to us; to fight the Burning Legion.
More pieces of my memories slotted into place, the rate of which was making me dizzy.
Then I saw four Naga moving up a ramp leading out of the cavern.
I looked to my left to see another Demon Hunter - Kayn Sunfury. I stared back at the Naga. "They are the Coilskar, loyal to Lord Illidan," he informed me.
"Coilskar," I said out loud.
"Yesss?" Vrsadra's voice enthused. "They were the first of my people to follow Lord Illidan. Keep focusssing."
Memories of Illidan were then processed at an alarming rate. "I - I think he has returned to Suramar, his home," I gasped.
"Good! Now we know where he resides."
Other memories started to filter through but I was starting to feel drained, spent.
Then... Distantly I heard a cry. A babe.
An overwhelming feeling charged me and I felt my legs buckle. My son - I heard my son! With this knowledge, myriad memories rushed me at once.
The wet-eyed woman. Sarah! My beautiful Sarah. I saw her wrapping her arms around the silver-haired man who I now knew was me. I watched as I saw her lips move...I heard her voice! "I love you," she said. "Khadgar."
My wings beat wildly as I tried to regain my footing.
The bubble burst, my panic rushed along with the currents. Fearful and desperate, my beak opened to beg Vrsadra to give me air, let me breathe! I had a family and I needed to return to them posthaste.
The Lady of the Sea understood and obliged, surrounding me in another air bubble.
She picked me up so I was not struggling to keep balance as I gulped the air. After a few moments, I calmed and sat quite still on her palm.
"You remember things now?" she asked, a grin on her reptilian mouth.
I was nodding. "I am called Khadgar," I replied. "Khadgar! I am Khadgar." I felt like a child - well, a chick, in my current form - and I was euphoric.
Vrsadra smiled. "Ahh, trussst!"
"Trust?" I asked, momentarily confused.
"Your name, Khadgar. It means 'trust' in the Dwarven tongue."
Once she explained, I remembered. "Yes, so I believe."
Without warning, I saw the two male Nagas appear from behind my captor, spears at the ready.
Her serpentine hair swirled and coiled as she turned to the undersea warriors. "As Lady of the Sea, I command we travel north," Vrsadra said, but in her Nazja tongue.
She looked back at me. "Time for you to go home, little raven. Khadgar." Then, holding me in both of her hands she spun and swam out of the cabin.
I watched as the seafloor dropped from my view. Golden light of the early evening permeated the water, growing brighter, clearer, as the Naga returned me to the surface.
