Days turn into weeks. Lisa is still acting weird. After her week off from work, she wasn't her bubbly self anymore. She goes to work with Jennie with a lost mind. She's always in her thoughts it's also distracting the customers and pissing some of them off too. Jennie always looks at Chaeyoung for reassurance but the girl shrugs to it as well. From then on Jennie decided to take Lisa's place at front counter while Lisa settles the placement of the returned or new books.

Everyone is starting to worry. Her parents are aware of this new behaviour but unaware why.

Lisa's presence was also missing more often at home nowadays. She's always out with this certain 'friend'. Jennie has tried to get Lisa to open up but to no avail in the end.

Her span to focus on things has also decreased and nothing is making much sense to her. But as much as she is frustrated, she still does her very best to not overthink.

She still kisses Lisa in the morning.

She still kisses Lisa at night.

She still cuddles with Lisa every lazy afternoon.

She still swims with Lisa.

Most importantly, she still tries.

She still tries to cheer Lisa. To encourage Lisa. To support Lisa. And Ofc, to love Lisa.

"Bye Lili I'll see you later." Jennie smiled weakly as Lisa left once again.

Lisa smiled back before closing the door of car and driving uphill.

Jennie sighs and hugs herself. Feeling like every time Lisa leaves, even if it's just for a moment, she always feels empty.

Jennie turns back into the cabin and heads for the shower.

She ran a bath, staring at the bubbles forming and thinking what she should do for the next 6 hours without her only happy pill by her.

Once dressed up, she decided to visit the Manoban's residence once again.

She exits the cab and was greeted by one of the maids there.

Jennie's POV*

"Uh hi Judy." I bowed. "Is anyone here at the moment?" She nods.

"Yes Ms Jennie please come in."

I head inside after my shoes came off and see Jungkook oppa sitting in the dining room with Bobby oppa.

"Oppa, annyeong." I greeted them.

"Oh Jennieyah!" They both turned and stood up smiling.

I gave them both a quick hug and sat with them.

"What brings you here?" Jungkook oppa asked rubbing my back, clearly worried by the expression I wore on my face.

"Oppa has Lisa talked to you recently? Or any of you?" I started of with a sigh already.

"I'm sorry Jennie but no. Believe it or not she also distant with us too. But I don't know why. Yet." Jungkook said.

I nod, " I see. I'm sorry for disturbing your lunch today oppa. I'll just be on my way then." I stood up but they immediately stopped me.

"W-wait... Jennie have you been taking care of yourself?" Bobby oppa took my wrist.

"I'm fine oppa." I bowed again with a small smile.

They looked at each other for a moment.

"Uh you aren't disturbing us. Please have a seat and dine with us. You look skinny Jen. Please." They begged anxiously.

"Ok I'll stay."

"Here Jennie." Bobby oppa gave me a cup of coffee as now we were settled in the living room.

"Thank you oppa."

It's been 2 hours since I arrived. Lisa should be done in 3.

"Um Jennie," they called and I looked up from spacing out.

"Huh ne?"

"Um we have a pool party tomorrow night. It's with our other friends. A few girls. You should tag along and see if you can make new girl friends." Jungkook oppa smiled.

"Huh? I don't think that's a good idea. Lisa might~" he cut me off.

"Lisa will follow you if I'm the one who invited ok?" He held my hands. "Maybe this could be the chance where you two get to spend time together too. Don't worry ok? Me and the boys will be there. I'll promise to you that we will protect you there." I smiled happily.

"Thanks oppa. I'll try to be there. I'm sorry that you have to get involved in the problems I'm facing with Lisa right now." I apologised.

"Ani. Your already like a sister to me. To us." He pointed out to bobby and the other boys who weren't present here right now.

"Hehe thanks again oppas." I hugged them,
thankful.

Meanwhile*

No One's POV*

Before Lisa headed to work, she dropped just a few blocks from the store and met up with someone.

"Hey bro." She greeted someone.

"Ey Lisa!" He greeted back.

"So here's what you ask for. Remember I'm always open bro." He winked.

"Yes thanks again. Here's the money. See you soon dude." She waved and walked the remaining distance to work.

She then reaches for the inside of her pocket and popped a pill in her mouth, gulping it down dry.

She smiled widely as she heads for work.

But still unaware that she would have regretted putting that smile on in the first place.

What would her new, deeper and darker secret have in store for their once perfect relationship?

Night came, Lisa and Jennie were having dinner across from each other.

"Uh poopoo?" Jennie called.

"Yes babe?" Lisa looked up to her.

"Um I went to visit Jungkook oppa today because I was bored at home. And uh he invited us to a pool party tomorrow at Bobby oppa's place. We should go." Jennie reaches for Lisa's hand smiling.

Lisa just nods and hums in response.

Jennie's smile faded away and she pulled from Lisa.

"I'm done here." She cleared her throat and placed her dishes in the sink.

She walked out, and headed for the lake. Lisa eyes her and drinks down something making sure Jennie didn't see.

Meanwhile Jennie walked for the wooden planks and sat legs submerged under water on the bridge.

"Oh what has happened to you Lisa?" She whispered to herself as she watched Lisa do the dishes through the wide, open window.

She faces the shining water, not realising that  her own tears started falling from her eyes, dripping into the calm, shimmering water.

Jennie felt cold. Empty. She didn't know if she did anything wrong and the thought is killing her. She hugged her knees as she stared blankly into the moon's reflection with tears running freely down her cheeks.

"Babe are you ok?" Lisa asked back hugging Jennie and kissing her shoulder.

"I'm tired Lisa. Let's just sleep. Goodnight." Jennie forced herself to sleep and Lisa still hugged her even after a sigh.
