i swear whenever it's football season, the whole town goes into over obnoxious mode.
even the adults who don't have any kids going to our school still goes to the games, it's like the only thing most people look forward too which, just sounds miserable to me.i've never really understood the hype around the game, sure it's fun to see some dudes tackle each other but, really that's all it is. there are far more entertaining sports and activities that this town should make a bigger fuss about.
like skateboarding! skateboarding is just as easy as football and if not, harder. and i'm not just talking about riding it, i mean like tricks and routines and everything! really, if you're good at skateboarding you can get used to a lot of things quicker.
like surfing! one year the vices camped on a beach for a week and we wanted to learn how to surf and, within a couple hours we could do it successfully and not fall off. and i know that it would've been different if we didn't know how to skate.
plus, since none of us come from wealthy parents or have any steddy jobs, mainly because no one will hire "scandalous" teens, some people just view skateboarding as a hobby for rebels.
when in reality, most of us can't really afford to get around. we don't have cars, none of our parents will drive us besides hudson's mom but, she has her own life and can't drive us around whereever we need. plus, we actually look forward to skating somewhere!
we can't spend money every week on movie tickets or bowling so, we go to the skatepark for free.
i just don't get why people view us so negatively. we're just kids! it's crazy to me how they don't see that sometimes.
they get so caught up in sterotypes that they aren't even willing to give us a job, or a decent conversation. it's like we're criminals.
sure we get in a few fights here and there but, it's never more than a punch or scratch.
and what most of them don't know is that it's their precious immortals starting all of them.we were currently at our favorite coffee shop, just doing homework so we can have the rest of the weekend off.
"so, are you guys going to the big game? first one of senior year!" oscar asks us as he brings us yet another large free drink we can all split.
oscar owns the coffee shop and he is the most selfless man i have ever met.
he's the only one who doesn't keep an eye on us every second we're in his store and when he does, it's only to make sure no one bothers us. he also doesn't get mad at us for not getting anything everytime we go in there. in fact, if we don't get anything he will always give us some free drinks and pastries. he is the sweetest man ever. he really cares about us and, it's always such a warm feeling.
"um we aren't sure yet, a couple of our friends will be there from the other school but, we aren't sure if we want to go yet." vienna says as we all nod our heads agreeing with her.
"well, maybe just go? it should be a fun time!" he says as he walks away, seeing new customers walk up to the line.
"what do you guys think? should we go?" Isaiah asks us.
"i mean, what else do you guys want to do?" savannah says.
"i'd be down to go! i heard that rachel was going to be there and she wanted to see me for a little bit." hudson says with a smirk growing on his face.
there he goes again, rubbing in my face that he has hoes.
i feel a little weird going to the game tonight after what callan said the other day.
i don't want him to think I'm going to the game because he somewhat asked me to.
especially because i still don't know what was going on with him and declan when he came over to me.
