it's currently the day before i audition and i honestly still don't believe i'm doing it.
all my friends and even tucker have been super convincing so, i'm actually going to do it.tucker had been helping me out a lot actually. he helped me pick out my song and he told me that they always get extra impressed when you play an instrument instead of just playing music from a cd or phone so, he's been helping me sneak in the auditorium to use their piano.
i've known how to play piano for a little bit now, declan taught me how to play and i surprisingly caught on fast to it. i also really enjoyed it, it was always super relaxing to me.i was currently alone in the auditorium messing around and procrastinating actually practicing but, then started.
i decided on doing "if i ain't got you" by alicia keys. i picked this song because 1, it was pretty easy to learn on the piano. and 2, i thought it would be good to pick a song that showed off my voice, that shows when i'm singing more soft and then loud and powerful which is what i think this song does for me.(cover up above is the vibe i'm going for, for dillon's audition.)
"Some people live for the fortune
Some people live just for the fame
Some people live for the power, yeah
Some people live just to play the game""Some people think that the physical things define what's within
And I've been there before, and that life's a bore
So full of the superficial""Some people want it all
But I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you, baby
If I ain't got you, baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you, yeah"i was about to continue with the rest of the song until i heard a slow clap coming from the dark, and what i thought empty audience. the clap scared the shit out of me and i was just trying to find any silhouette i could to find out who it was but, when i landed on his face, my face just went pale.
"who knew you could sing like that veams?" callan said, walking up onto the stage.
"how long have you been here callan?" i asked annoyed.
"since you started. i heard you're auditioning, is that what you're gonna sing?" he said, walking over to me and sitting on the piano bench with me.
"and i should tell you these things why?" i ask.
"you tell tucker things like that?" he said.
"that's because tucker and i are friends."
"well, we can be friends dillon." he said with a small smile on his face.
it almost looked sincere.
"but we hate each other, why would we be friends." i said.
"i don't hate you, and i don't think you actually hate me." he said, not taking his eyes off me.
"yes, it is the song i'm auditioning with." i said. why, i'm not really sure.
"you seem nervous?" he asked.
"of course, i'm nervous! i've never done anything like this before." i confided in him.
"well, if it means anything, i think you sound beautiful. truly." he said. that made me finally look at him. what was he doing? he has been acting so weird these past couple of weeks.
"thanks callan." is all i could mudder out.
"anytime dillon."
sorry this is so short this is kind of just a filler hehe <3333
