callan's pov.

i got to my seat right as june was walking off stage. i was sat in between torey and thomas as jade was on the other side of thomas. i said hi to them quietly as i sat down and then got ready for the next person, which i know is dillon.

and then she walked out onto the middle of the stage. i meant it when i told her i thought she looked beautiful. she really does, breathtaking at that. i've always known that she was hot i mean, how can someone look at her and not agree but, this year i've really been noticing how just genuinely beautiful she is. well, now I'm getting off topic.

"hello, my name is dillon veams and i will be auditioning for satine." dillon spoke up from the stage, looking at the drama teacher.

i kind of zoned out looking at dillon as her and the teacher talked briefly until i saw her walk over to the piano. as she sat down, she just stayed there for a second, starring at the keys with her hands on them. it didn't seem she was nervous, just trying to focus on keys more like. but then, she started playing.

(putting the song in again but, just imagine it a bit slower than the usual pace.)

"Some people live for the fortune
Some people live just for the fame
Some people live for the power, yeah
Some people live just to play the game
" she started.

"Some people think that the physical things define what's within
And I've been there before, and that life's a bore
So full of the superficial

Some people want it all
But I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you, baby
If I ain't got you, baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you, yeah

Some people search for a fountain
That promises forever young (you know)
Some people need three dozen roses
And that's the only way to prove you love them

dillon started to close her eyes as she was singing and playing, really getting into it. she was getting totally lost in the music and it was so obvious. she looked like she was enjoying every second of it, and she sounded perfect not to mention.

"Hand me the world on a silver platter
And what good would it be
With no one to share, with no one who truly cares for me

Some people want it all
But I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you, baby
If I ain't got you, baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you, you, you

Some people want it all
But I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you, baby
If I ain't got you, baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you, yeah

If I ain't got you with me, baby, oh, ooh
Said nothing in this whole wide world don't mean a thing
If I ain't got you with me, baby
" dillon finished.

she took her fingers off of the keys and opened her eyes for the first time since she closed them. i honestly wanted to clap, that's how good it was. but, no one really claps after auditions, someone tried clapping on someone earlier, boys auditions were before girls, and they got kicked out. she absolutely killed it. she hit every note, both singing and playing the piano. i didn't even know she could play.

she then stood up and walked back to the x on the stage, staring and smiling softly at the teacher, waiting for her to say something.

"well, ms.veams, for being a senior auditioning for the lead role without stepping foot into any drama activities. you certainly surprised me." miss.becking said, sounding like a smile was followed by her comment. and dillon just smiled back at her, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"okay ms.veams, now we are going to have you run through some lines with one of our stagehands landon." miss.becking said as she called for someone named landon but, no one came on the stage.

"uh miss.becking, landon had to go home, something about his little brother being stuck in a morph suit." tucker said as he came onto the stage. a couple of the kids in the crowd laughed at his comment on landon's current situation.

"okay well, tucker, will you be able to read through the lines with ms.veams?" she said to tucker. tucker looked at miss.beacking, then to dillon, then back at the teacher with a smile on her face.

"yes of course!" he said as he grabbed a script for both dillon and himself and they both take center stage.

"okay so, we will be going over the part in the play where the duke found out about satine and christians relationship while satine was having dinner with the duke. so, dillon you will be reading for satine and tucker, for christian. both satine and christian are english so, try your best accent with it! don't worry about it being perfect." miss.becking said as she finished giving a bit more context.

i'm glad miss.becking is doing a different scene, if she hadn't i swear i would have the few couple lines memorized because of how much auditions i've sat through today.

"alright, dillon. satine comes in quite emotional because of the previous scene and so, try your best to feel distraught. scared almost. are you familiar with his film or show?" miss.becking asked dillon.

"i am, it's my favorite one." dillon said with a smile.

"great, then you should somewhat know how she's feeling right now. and also, obviously there's a kiss in this scene but, we will be skipping that today. any questions?" miss.becking finished.

huh a kiss scene, i mean, i figured there would be a kiss scene but, i'm still interested to hear it.
gosh i hope i get the role.

i auditioned for the role of christian earlier today. i don't really know why but, i hope i get it.

"no i think we're good!" dillon responded.

"okay great, dillon start whenever you feel comfortable." miss.becking said as dillon took a couple steps away from tucker.

"I couldn't, I couldn't go through with it. I saw you there and I
felt terribly. I couldn't pretend. And the Duke he saw, he saw.
Christian, I love you.
" dillon said in an english accent.

"It's okay." tucker said.

"And I couldn't do it, I didn't want to pretend anymore.
I don't want to lie.
And he knows! He knows, he saw.
" dillon acted. wow, who knew she could act like that.

"Your right, you don't have to pretend anymore. We'll leave;
we'll leave tonight.
" tucker said.

"Leave? But-what-- the show? "

"I don't care, I don't care about the show.
We love each other, and that's all that matters.
" tucker responded.

"Yes, yes as long as we have each other." dillon said.

"Chocolat, take Ms. Satine to her dressing room to get the thing she needs.
No one must see you, you understand?
" tucker said to, no one really. there was no one on stage playing chocolat.

"I understand." miss.becking said as the role of chocolat.

"Darling, you go and pack. And I'll be waiting." tucker said.

"okay so, after that would normally be the kiss and then switch scenes but, for now, i think that's a perfect place to stop! thank you so much ms.veams! the cast list will be posted outside my door at 8:00am on tuesday morning so, you can check your status there! thank you again." miss.becking said as dillon said her thank yous and walked off stage.

well, she definitely got it.
