Unexpected Love

Chapter 8

Ann-Kathrin's P. O. V.

It's been a month since our holiday in Ibiza. I haven't seen much of Mario since we got back. He's been traveling a lot for football. I've been doing some modeling and catching up with my friends. It's been hard though. Being away from Mario for a long time. He's supposed to be getting home today sometime and I'm really excited. He's having dinner with me and my parents tonight. Mario is really nervous, but I'm not. I know my parents will love him.

"Is my beautiful girlfriend home?"
I smile as I hear Mario's voice fill the house. I moved in to Mario's house when we got back from Ibiza. I run over to him and jump into his arms, squeezing him tight. "I missed you so much!" He kisses my temple, "I missed you. How have things been here?" I smile, "They've been fine. How were all your matches?" Mario shrugs, "Well, we won them all. So I guess things went well. " I playfully slap him, "Don't be so modest. You're an amazing player. " Mario sits on the couch and pulls me down so I'm on his lap. "Dinner with your parents is today, right?" I look at him and nod, "Yes it is. " Mario takes a deep breath, "I'm nervous. " I smile and set my hand on his cheek, "You have no reason to be nervous. Really. I love you. And they'll love you. " Mario raises his brows, "You love me?" That's when I realize what I just said. I bite my lip and nod. Mario smiles and sets his lips on mine, "I love you too. " He pulls away and tugs on my hair, "Did you dye it? It looks lighter than usual. " I smile and nod, "Yeah. I did three days ago. " Mario nods, "I like it. " I grin and kiss him, "I'm so happy you're home. "

Mario and I decide to go to the cinema before dinner. We go see Unbroken. It is really good. Mario and I walk outside, hand in hand. We walked to the cinema because it's so close to our house. I look at the sky, "It's a really nice night. Do you want to walk to my parents?" Mario looks around, "Yeah, that's a good idea. " I wrap my arm around his, "I'm so happy you're back. And I'm so happy that you're going to meet my parents. " Mario kisses the top of my head, "I am too. Then you need to meet my family. " I nod, "I would really like that. " Mario sighs, "I hate to tell you this, but I have to leave again. In two days. " I look up at him, "You're kidding?" Mario shakes his head, "No. I wish I were, baby. " I nod. Mario sighs, "We need to do something tomorrow." I smile, "Or we could lay around and watch endless movies. " Mario laughs, "That sounds amazing. I haven't been lazy in awhile. "

We get to my parents house. I look at Mario, "Ready?" He nods. We walk up to the front door and knock. My sister opens the door, pulling me into a hug. I laugh, "I didn't know you would be here!" My sister, Anna, pulls out of the hug, "Well I'm here! Finn, Stefan and Luca are here too!" I look at Mario nervously. He was nervous to meet my parents and now he's meeting my whole family. Finn is my brother and Luca is Anna's husband and Stefan is there child. Anna walks inside and I grab Mario's hand, "My sister, her husband and my brother are here too. Are you okay with that?" Mario smiles, "Of course. " I laugh as we walk inside. My parents, Laura and Tom, immediately hug me. I smile, "Everyone, this is Mario. But obviously you guys already know since you're huge fans. " Mario laughs, "Oh thank you. " Finn and Luca walk into the room, hugging me and shaking Mario's hand. We all sit down for dinner, Mario sitting next to me and across from Finn. Finn takes a bite and says, "So Ann-Kathrin, I heard that you moved in with Mario. " I swallow my food, "Yes, I did. It's been great." I take a drink of my wine when Anna says, "You two went on a holiday to Ibiza, right?" I tilt my head, "Do you stalk us?" Everyone laughs as Anna says, "No, but it's hard not to notice when you two are all over the internet. " Mario looks at me then says to Anna, "Our holiday to Ibiza was pretty early in our relationship. But I think it just strengthened it. " I nod, "It was an amazing trip. " Anna sighs, "You're so lucky. I mean, look at you guys. You can't keep your hands off eachother. " I laugh, she's right. We've been holding hands the whole time. Luca quickly looks at his wife, Anna, "Hey, you're lucky to be with me!" She smiles at him, "Of course honey. " Then she looks at me and makes a face.

The dinner goes well. I think my whole family really loves Mario. Mario is out in the backyard, playing soccer with Stefan, My dad and Luca. I'm sitting on the porch with my mom and sister, drinking wine and watching the boys. My mom looks at me, "You two really seem in love. " I nod, "We are. " Anna smiles, "He seems to treat you really well. And you two look so good together. I'm really happy you've found someone, sis. " I nod, "I am too. It's just hard. He travels a ton with football. This is the first day I've seen him in a month. And he's leaving again in two days. " My mom and sister nod, "Yeah. We're so sorry that you don't see much of each other. But, when you guys are
Together, it'll make it that much more special. " I nod, "you are completely right. " My sister sips her wine, "So, how did you two meet?" I bite my lip, remembering how we met. "Well, I was at the club with Mandy and I got pretty wasted. I remember dancing with Mario then he took me back to his place. " My mom and Anna laugh, "I certainly didn't expect that to be the story of how you two met. " I nod, "I know. " Anna raises her brows, "So how is he?" I furrow my brows, "What do you mean- oh! Well, I'll just sum it all up in a few words: best time of my life." Anna laughs, "That good, huh? Well, it's not hard to believe. I mean, look at him. He's totally gorgeous. Of course he's good in bed. " I raise my brows, "I'm finding it a little weird how you're talking about my boyfriend when you're married. " Anna rolls her eyes, "Let me have my fun!" We all laugh and the guys walk over to us. I kiss Mario as he sits down next to me, setting his arm across my shoulders. My mom looks at us, "So, Mario, has Ann-Kathrin met your family yet?" He shakes his head, "Not yet. I'm planning on taking her sometime soon. " Everyone nods and my brother says, "Do you two plan on a wedding and baby in the future?" My eyes widen and a blush forms on my cheeks. Mario looks at a loss for words. I clear my throat, "Finn, I think it's a little early to be thinking about that, don't you think?" Finn shrugs, "I guess so. "

When my parents suggest we all watch a movie inside, I look at Mario, "Do you want to stay or leave. I'm fine with either. " Mario kisses my forehead, "I want to stay. " I grab his hand as we're all walking inside, "Thank you. This means a lot. " we all pile into the family room and watch a movie we've never seen before. It's a good movie. When the movie is over, I stand up, "well, I think Mario and I are going to head out. I'll probably come by and see you all in a few days while Mario is gone. " Mario and I say bye to everyone then drive back to our house. When we get home, Mario collapses on our bed. I climb on top of him and set my lips against his, "Was it that bad?" Mario shakes his head, "No, it was great. I love your family. I'm just tired, is all. " I sit up, "So you want to go to bed, then?" Mario smirks, "I'm never to tired for you. " I laugh as he rolls us over and starts kissing my neck.
