Unexpected Love

Chapter 24

Ann-Kathrin's P. O. V.

It's been a week since Beckham was born. We're allowed to take him home today. We decided to stay at my parents house for a little while so my mom and sister can help with the baby.

Mario will start going back to training and traveling with the team again. Im just worn out already and I know it'll be great to have some help.

When Mario and I bring Beckham home, my whole family and Mario's whole family are all at my parents house.

I can't help but smile and start to tear up as Beckham starts to wake up in my arms.

We have a nursery set up at our house but we just brought the crib over and put it in the room Mario and I are staying in.

Mario takes the car seat/baby carrier thing and sets it by the door while I sit down on the couch.

Everyone crowds around me, trying to get a look at Beckham. I hand him to my mom as she fawns all over him.

Mario comes and sits next to me, setting his hand on my thigh. I grab his hand in mine and smile at him. Mario smiles back and kisses the top of my head as I lay it against his shoulder, watching our families with our baby.

Today is our first night with the baby at home. Mario had no trouble falling asleep. I know he was worn out from taking care of me and Beckham.

It took me forever to fall asleep. And right when I did, Beckham started crying. I wake up and start to get up but Mario quickly says, "Go back to sleep, baby. I'll take care of it. "

I shake my head and smile at Mario, "No, it's okay. He's probably hungry. You go back to sleep, babe. I'll be fine."

Mario sighs, "Are you sure?"

I nod and go grab Beckham from his crib. I hold him until he stops crying then I take him out into the living room.

I turn the tv on and sit on the couch while I nurse Beckham. Once he's done, I rock him until he falls asleep.

I sit there for awhile, to tired to get up. Mario walks out, squinting at the brightness of the television. "Babe, go back to bed. I'll put him back in his crib. "

I hand Beckham over to Mario and walk back to bed. I slide in and a few minutes later, Mario gets in. He wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me closer so our noses are touching.

He kisses me, "I love you. And I'm so proud of you. "

I grin and press our lips together again, kissing him longer than he did. "I love you. "

Mario sighs, "It'll be awhile before we can fool around won't it?"

I laugh quietly, "Not necessarily. I just need to heal. And once we get back home and he's in his own room, we can."

Mario nuzzles his face into my neck, lightly kissing it, "I don't want to wait."

I tangle my fingers in his hair, "I don't either, baby. But look at what amazing thing we made together. Isn't it worth the wait?"

Mario pulls his head away and grins at me, "Of course. Now, you're so tired. Go to sleep. I'll see you in the morning, love. "

I kiss him one more time before I close my eyes and almost immediately fall into a very deep sleep.
