Unexpected Love

Chapter 9

Ann-Kathrin's P. O. V.

Mario is leaving today. I'm waiting outside so I can say bye before he leaves. Mario walks out with his bags, throwing them in his car. Then he walks over and grabs my waist, "I love you. " I smile, "I love you too. Be safe, have fun and okay hard. Tell the guys I said good luck, okay?" Mario kisses me long and hard, "Of course. You know, Manuel still likes you. And he still hates me. " I frown, "I hate knowing I've come between you and your teammate." Mario shakes his head, "Don't be upset. You're the most important person in my life. If I had to have every single person on this earth hate me to be with you, so be it. " I set my forehead against him, "You are so cheesy" Mario shrugs as I laugh, "But I love it. Don't worry. " Mario kisses me, "I'll see you in a few weeks. " I wave as he gets in his car and drives away.

It's been a week since Mario left. His matches haven't been televised so I haven't been able to watch him play. I'm over at my parents house, visiting with my mom and Anna. We're sitting in the kitchen, eating finger foods and drinking wine. Let me tell you, my family LOVES wine. I have to have at least one glass a day. It's seriously the most amazing thing ever invented. We're sitting in the kitchen talking about random stuff when my brother busts in the house. "Ann-Kathrin, did you hear?!" I stand up from the island, "No, what happened?" Finn grabs my hands, "I heard Mario had to be taken to the hospital in their last match. " my mouth drops open, "What happened?" Finn shrugs, "They haven't let out details yet. " I grab my phone to call him. I would go see him but they're in America. I call his number and he doesn't answer. When I call for the second time, he answers, "Ann-Kathrin" I let out a deep breath when I hear his voice, "Mario, please tell me you're alright. " He chuckles, "I'm fine. I just got a pretty nasty gash above my eye. I had to have stitches. I'm out of the hospital and free to play in the match tomorrow. Really, everything is fine. " I smile, "Oh thank goodness. I'm over at my moms and Finn came running in telling me you were in the hospital. Obviously my mind immediately went to the worst possible scenario. " Mario sighs, "Yeah, I know. I'm sorry I didn't call. I just didn't want to worry you. " I nod, "I understand. I'm just glad you're okay. " I can hear him laugh, "I am too. Well listen, I have to go. I'll talk to you later, okay. " I sigh, "Okay. I love you. " I can hear the smile in his voice, "I love you too, Ann-Kathrin. Bye. "

He hangs up and I go back over to my sister and mom, who look worried. I sit down and drink the rest of my wine in one gulp, "He's okay. Thank goodness. He just had to have stitches. He got cleated above his eye. But he's fine now. He's back with his team. " My mom sighs, "Oh thank goodness. " I nod, "Yeah. That really terrified me. " Anna nods, "well, he's okay. So let's get back to what we were talking about. " we all laugh as Anna says, "for some reason, lately, Luca hasn't wanted to do anything, you know, intimate. Ann, that's why I was so jealous of how you and Mario were touching each other all night. Luca and I aren't like that anymore. What should I do?" I smile, "There's no shame in that, Anna. But what you should do, is plan a very romantic night. Have a romantic dinner cooked for him when he gets home from work. Have some candles lit, some wine and some music playing. Wear a really nice dress with some sexy lingerie. After dinner, take him into your room and work your magic. " We all laugh as Anna nods, "That's a good idea. Thanks Ann-Kathrin. " I smile, "Happy to help. " Anna bites her lip, "So is that how you get things started with Mario?" I shake my head, "No, it's actually quite easy for things to start between us. I'll just lay on him or sit on him and Mario immediately starts things up. " Anna sighs, "Why can't I be like that with Luca. Does he just not find me sexy anymore?" I sigh, "Anna, you are gorgeous. Seriously. Luca thinks you're sexy. Just do what I told you to do " Anna smiles, "Thanks, sis. " I look at the time then down the rest of my wine, "I've gotta go. I have a photo shoot. " My mom smiles, "Alright. Have fun. We'll see you soon. " I hug my mom and Anna then leave, driving to the studio.

Mario is suppose to be getting back today. I'm in our house, doing my makeup when I get a text from Mario, "Good morning gorgeous. I'm almost home. " I smile and quickly finish getting ready, running outside just in time to see Mario pull up. I open the door and pull him out, kissing him. He smiles and pulls away, "So I take it you missed me?" I set my hand on his face, looking at his stitches, "Oh, Mario. " He smiles and grabs my chin, "Ann, it's nothing. Really. I've had much worse. I'm fine. " I smile and kiss him, "Good. I'm glad. " Mario sighs, "It's good to be back in Germany. Listen, I invited the guys over tonight for dinner and to hang out. I hope that's okay. " I smile, "Of course. I'll whip something up. How would you like some sour roast?" Mario smiles, "That would be perfect. Thank you. " I nod as we walk inside. I grab all the ingredients I need and start making it. By the time it's done, the team is here. I smile and hug them all as they walk in. When they're all at the table, I serve the food. I grab a seat next to Mario, then I notice Manuel is on my other side. I can feel him looking at me but I try to ignore it. I smile at Mario, listening to him tell funny stories to all his mates. Once dinner is done, all the guys go outside and mess around. I call Mario over to me, "Hey, would you be okay if I went to my moms?" Mario smiles and kisses me, "Of course. I love you. Tell everyone I said hi" I nod, "will do. Have fun. " I leave and drive to my moms

I walk in and see Anna and my mom sitting in the kitchen again. I hug both of them, "So, Anna, how did things go with you and Luca. " Anna smiles, "It went great. " I smile, "Yay! Will we have another little Stefan coming along soon?" Anna shakes her head, "Hopefully not soon. Stefan is hard enough to handle right now. What about you? Any little Ann-Kathrin's or little Mario's soon?" I shrug, "Nothing's in the plan right now. We haven't talked about it. I don't think we will for awhile. With Mario's soccer and my modeling, it just wouldn't be ideal timing. " My mom nods, "We understand. But really, your kids would be the cutest kids to ever be born. Pairing your gorgeousness with Mario's handsomeness, that would make a beautiful baby. " We all laugh, "Awh, thanks mom. But I don't think Mario would be ready. " My mom and sister nod, "So why aren't you with Mario right now?" I shrug, "He had the team over. They were outside wrestling and stuff so I decided to come over here. " Anna sighs, "do you think something will happen between you and Mario tonight?" I tilt my head, "You mean sex? Probably. We usually do when he gets home. " Anna groans, "How does it just come so dang natural for you two?! Why do I have to try so hard to get my damn husband to sleep with me. " I set my hand on top of hers, "Anna, listen, it'll be alright. Luca will come around. I promise. " She sighs but nods.

After I've been at my mom's house for a few hours, I decide to go home. When I walk into the house, everyone is gone. I hear soft music playing so I go to the source. I walk into the bathroom and see Mario hunched over the bathtub. When he hears me, he turns around and smiles. I walk over to him and see the bathtub. It's filled with pink water with Rose petals in it. There are candles lit all around, there are 2 glasses of champagne and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. I look at Mario in surprise, "You did all of this?" He nods, "I missed you baby. "
I kiss him, "I missed you too. " Mario and I get in the bathtub together, drinking our champagne and eating strawberries. Mario and I start kissing a lot we decide to get out. We dry off then make our way into the bedroom.
