Chp 9: Water time (1)

The next day in the afternoon...

"It's so hot..."

The whole tribe gathered at the lake to cool off.

"Why does it have to be so hot..." Asmic groaned as he was sizzling a peace of fruit over a flaming peice of wood.

"I never felt this weather in my whole entire life. I actually wish that it was the same temperature as a couple of days ago." Someone said as they pour water on their neck.

"Why do we have to go through this much pain for water..."

"It's disappointing that we can't swim." Jandel said as she watched the water in her cup evaporate. "I can hardly drink water..."

"This heat is (wheeze) too much. I don't care what happens to me. I'M GOING IN TO THE LAKE!!!" They jumped into the lake.

"Ah what the heck. Might as well join them."

Some others followed after the two.

"I'm not risking it." Asmic sat right under a tree.

"If you aren't risking it, then I'm willing to!" Jandel dived into the water. "This feels much better! Even if something will happen to us."

He watched as everyone was in the water cooling of. "Look at them. Having fun. When was I never the one to have fun?"

"Probably back when we were kids!"

"Ha! Good one!"

"You idiots. When will you learn to stop picking on our little brother?"

"Wait. I know those voices from anywhere!" He looked over to see His older siblings. Esmic, Desmic, and Resmic.

"Hey how's it going!" Esmic sat next to him eating a pineapple.

"You didn't change one bit!" Desmic said while look at his records.

"C'mon! Join the fun while the day is lasting!" Resmic flicked his right earring.

"Asmic, I never new your family were here!" Jandel walked over soaked in water.

"Yeah. They're here alright. Heh...."

"Oh wow! You aren't surprised to see us, huh?" The eldest, Esmic, by a minute said while chewing the last bit of his pineapple.

"Talk without your mouth full dude." The second eldest, Desmic, by 30 seconds said while she shined one of the records. "When was the last time you cleaned these things?"

"Why does it matter? All we need to do is get him inside the water and bam! Problem solved." The second youngest, Resmic, by 5 seconds threw Asmic into the water.

"Guys! I just had my hair done! Look what you did..."

"You know that family and tribe comes before hair." Jandel started to make her way over to him. "Besides, how are you supposed to meet with your si-"

"Yeah yeah. Siblings always gotta look out for each other. I was the only one that had the dream of becoming a king, which there's no problem with that, but it feels like so much responsibility! I have to keep up with the dates. Keep everyone in check. It just drives me nuts! But a king gotta do what a king gotta do." He started to squeeze the water out of his leg fur.

"Man, are you really a downer. Are we going to focus on why it's so hot here?" Jandel said laying against Asmic.

"I guess you're right. I need to focus on what is happening here then what was happening back then." He started to glance at the trolls having fun in the water. "I just don't understand. If we can't swim, then how can we stand up in water. Some of us aren't quadruped, yet that doesn't change anything. So why we can't get in the water even i-"
