i giggled.

it's been days since the last time i saw him.

he was sitting on this bench, ten steps in front of me.

i just wanted to have a night walk, but it seems that whenever i want some time with myself, he always shows up.

i continued walking slowly towards his place, with a smile on my face. i didn't know why i was so glad to see him, why i couldn't get rid of this smile on my face.

" hey " i said, when i was already three steps away. he got startled before turning around, giving me a glance.

" hi, do you want to talk? " i asked, as i sat beside him. i noticed that something was off. he didn't smiled when he saw me.

" no. i'm fine. " he said, shaking his head lightly.

i gave him a shrug.

" if you say so. " i said, not forcing him to speak.

" how was your day? " i asked, out of the blue.

" not that much. just a little music and a little more job finding. " i faced him as he answered my question. he had a small smile plastered on his face but i could tell he wasn't in the mood to give it off.

" you know, they said that nature is the best healer of all. " i said, not really knowing what to say.

" nature? " he asked, facing me. i nodded.

" yes, nature. the skies, the trees, the river, the flowers. all of it. " i said, pointing at each object i see.

" but it's already dark. " he said.

" wouldn't that be amazing? you wouldn't find the light if there was no darkness. " i said, without context. he stared at me, so i had to look away. his eyes were there again. it looked like he was reading me again.

" and also, i know this place that can really help you relax. " i said, and stood up. i offered my hand towards him. he stared at it like it was the weirdest thing he had seen.

i chuckled before i grabbed his hand myself and pulled him to where i was going to bring him.

" why are we at the café? i mean, it's already closed. " he said, when we reached our destination. i giggled as we went towards the back of the café, where a tall fence was. i was glad i was wearing jeans.

" come on " i told him, when i started to climb up the fence.

" hey, shine! don't-- hey! " he raised his voice, he was trying to hold my leg but i wriggled my leg out and continued to climb.

when i was at the top, i gestured him to follow.

" i don't want to be behind bars, shine. " he warned, but he started to climb. i bit my lip before i chuckled.

" you won't be. trust me. " i said, as i waited for him to catch up with me. when he was already halfway, i started to get down to the other side. i jumped my way down and waited for him.

" faster, haechan. we don't have all night. " i said, rolling my eyes. he was slow. or maybe he was just being careful. or he was just scared we might get in trouble. well, you will be. only if you get caught.

" isn't this illegal? " he whispered, when he was finally able to get down. i grabbed his hand again and pulled him to where the garden was.

" whoa " he looked so amazed. i let go of his hand as he looked and went around.

this indoor garden was owned by the café and this is open to vip customers only, but only if the café is in open hours. so basically, we sneaked in.

i looked around as well. i missed this place. this place looks good during the day time. you can see all the flowers here, the non-flowering plants and other plants. but it looked enchanting during nighttime. the old glass from up above gives a glamorous touch to the moon's luminous glow, hence giving everything down here a nightly glow.

i stared at him, with a small smile plastered in my face. i didn't know why but i wanted to see his smile. that smile that keeps on repeating inside my mind. that smile that makes me feel things i barely felt before.

he was a different kind of thrill.

he was difficult to read while i felt like an open book next to him. like everything he does was with extra precaution, because he didn't want to hurt me or my feelings.

" satisfied? " i asked, approaching him. he looked down on me, and there i saw my reflection on his eyes. how my face glowed under the light of the moon. my heart beated fast. the silence of our surrounding made my heart beat noticeable.

" beyond satisfied. " he said, smiling widely, squeezing his eyes in the process.

" i'm glad you are. " i smiled.

" thank you, shine. really. "

" anything. "

he fished his phone out of his pocket and played a song that was probably his own. it was soft but it was a little sad. i stared at his every move as he closed his eyes, placed the phone beside his ear and swayed to and fro.

i was startled when he placed his hand before me. i looked at him, clueless. then i looked back to his open hand.

" may i have this dance? "
